Plot
Krula sa Vadi and his Loyals are continuing their quest for the ultimate weapon, be it technological or biological. If they succeed in their mission, it would spell the end of any rebellion. Ever. Devi LightHolder and her Rebels seek this ultimate weapon as well, to ensure that Krula's Reign of Terror ends once and for all. The freedom of the Known Galaxy hangs precariously on the outcome of the Rebels and the Loyals but so far, such a weapon does not yet exist. Both sides are waiting, with spies and scientists working hard to ensure the success of each respective side while smaller skirmishes occur from time to time. Life, as it is, continues though they await for some sign of an end to this conflict, for some sign of a future of peace.
The only people who have seemed to profit from this conflict were the pirates and the mercenaries. Damaged ships returning to their bases were known to be attacked and their crew brutally murdered for the technology and security codes on the computer. The information is purchased by spies from both sides at exorbitant prices on the black markets to the gain of the pirates. While valuable, the sale of such information has led to the deaths of thousands.
Mercenaries sold their talents as pilots and fighters to the highest bidder, often working for one side one day and switching to the other side if offered a higher price. Their participation in the conflict between the Rebels and the Loyals has been crucial to certain victories even when their loyalties were somewhat suspect.
A religious war also seems to be on the horizon as the Way of Absolute Order gains more and more power and influence through Krula sa Vadi. The more tolerant followers of Order are being persecuted as heretics and often put through torture to force them to reveal their brethren. The highly mysterious Sect of Chaos has taken those persecuted under their wing and are in full support of the Rebellion although their true motives are hidden.
On the edge of the Known Galaxy, there are stories. Rumors of alien vessels, aliens never encountered before, appearing momentarily and then, vanishing. Though there has yet to be proof of their existence or of the nature of their presence, the tension builds on the otherwise Loyal border planets. They are demanding protection from Krula and, with the constant surprise attacks from the Rebels, their demands have gone unanswered. Their loyalty is questionable now as some have been discovered to be selling weapons and technology to the Rebels in return for some form of safety from this unseen threat. Krula's Loyals responded swiftly in a show of force that left the treacherous planets in rubble, sending a message to the rest about the dangers of any rebellion. So now, the border planets wait in fear for the attack, ignored by he they once considered their protector.
