Weight: 175 lb
Mutant Ability: Able to charge an object (supposedly only inorganic or dead organic matter) with kinetic energy, causing the object to explode. Usually Gambit uses trademark playing cards. May have limited telepathic ability.

History: Gambit was found as an orphan, and adopted by the Thieves Guild in New Orleans when he was a small child. His guild, the Thieves Guild, was always at war with its opposite, the Assasins Guild. To try and end the fighting between these two guilds, Remy was married to the daughter of the Assasin leader, Belladonna Boudreaux. But Belladonna's brother, Julian hated Gambit, and the peace his union brought. So he challenged Gambit, and Gambit was forced to kill Julian. Consequently Gambit was expelled from the Thieves Guild to avoid further fighting.

Gambit was still young when he was forced to leave his home, and he took up thieving. For a while he took up being a Mercenary, being hired and paid to do certain jobs. It was during this time Gambit was hired by a certain Nathanial Essex to do various odd jobs. His final Job for Sinister would end up being his undoing, Gambit was hired to recruit the Marauders, and he led them to the Morlock tunnels, thus becoming involved in the Mutant Massacre.

After this terrible experience Gambit moved on to stealing from other thieves, often returning goods to their rightful owners, perhaps for a sense of retribution, penance for what he had done. In one such case Gambit met the X-Man Storm, who had been reduced to her child state by The Nanny. It turned out, the man Gambit was robbing was The Shadow King, who was after Storm. Gambit saved Storm from The Shadow King and she took him back to the X-Men. On their return, the X-Men went to Muir Island to defeat the Shadow King

Gambit became a team member of the X-Men, but he was not wholly trusted a lot of the time, because of his unknown past, and Bishops accusations (that he was the X-Traitor). Gambit himself never seemed to come to terms with his past, and did not reveal it to the X-Men willingly. However, his team mates found out about his past dealings with Sinister, through "The Trial of Gambit" where it was revealed through "Eric the Red". His team-mates, and Rogue left him where the trial took place (Antarctica), in the ice and cold
