The Forest

Wind had no breath, or even presence, in which the travelers’ have found themselves in this adventure. Two elves of different sects, one human, a wolf, and a dragon create the quartet of travelers. Each possessing a different talent and strength, not to mention a weakness.

Born to be connected, Diyja and her dragon, Jadiy, looked side long at Anobri and his wolf friend. The two were shocked to find a human and wolf as close a Diyja and Jadiy, her separate self. Growing together since birth linked, both had emerge stout, strong, and closer in mind then any others, until now. Though Diyja was muscular, her feminine aspect was still very obvious. Jadiy was around three times Diyja’s mass, but twisted her scalely body into spaces with amazing ability.
Tolmin, an elf, only simular to Diyja by speices, is the smart one of the group. First thinking and out witting, Tolmin rarely ever dirties his hands with violence, but often uses his magic. Due to his years of study rather than strenuous exercise his lanky frame seemed child like to Diyja, especially since she stood at least a foot taller.
The silent and foreign, stranger to all, but his wolf friend, Terran, had never before seen an elf or a dragon. The name they use for him is Anobri, meaning man of the east. Really speaking of anything other than what needs to be said few words emerge from his thin narrow lips. His dark eyes peered out uninterested in much around him. His frame and exact muscle size well hidden underneath his long, thick cloak, matching the same dark gray of his wolf companion. Terran was alert to all and never took rest from his vigilance even while sleeping.

“Stop! I smell something strange,” Diyja heard Jadiy say in her head, halting her progress, the voice sending slight echoes through her head. “Unfamiliar....” her pet continued, “…and old.” Silently drawing her sword, Diyja signaled for the elf and human to smell the growing scent that the wolf and dragon already smelt.
A loud snap from a head alerted the group to a presence. The party froze like statues in a museum. With only looks from one to another they slowly searched around for the source of the noise. On the forest floor they saw tracks changing from a bear to rabbit with now way to explain it except for morphing. Which meant there was a changeling present in this forest, whether it was peaceful or violent meant the difference between death and life.
A booming voice from above, and a little below, said, “How dare YOU!" Sound vibrated everywhere making it impossible to orientate on its origin. “Why are you in MY forest”, the voice demand. Leaves, branches, and shrubs all rumbled and shook with each resonating word. They could even feel the words through the souls of their feet.
The party shrank back unsure of were the voice came from. Some branches moved as if something large was moving about in them or a strong wind was blowing through them. Causing the group to stare at each other. They all knew there was no air that flowed through this forest, neither had they felt anything close to a gust of wind strong enough to move such stout branches.
