Mortally wounded in 1992 when he was stabbed by a prostitute in a bar, Cahill revived soon after and believed he was reborn as God's avenger against prostitution. He was psychologically disturbed due to years of abuse from his stepfather and from his time spent serving in the British military which he was discharged because he failed their psychological exam.
