AEG are responsible for the Legend of Five Rings Roleplaying Game and Collectible Card Game. The purpose of this game, in my opinion, is to give players and GM's a vast realm of possibilty to explore and in my many, many years of playing, designing and running games, it's been a long time since I have seen a game that has so much potential.

The purpose of this site is to provide people that I have spoken to about this game, a chance to have a look at the world of 7th Seas, and decide what characters they would like to play. This site will also, hopefully, provide an overview for any interested folks who happen to drop by, and (coming soon!) the home for the Women in Roleplaying Webring.

7th Seas takes place in a world called "Theah". Theah can be compared to Europe of the 16 & 17th Centuries. Theah, however, has a number of differences to our time line as well as having many similarites. There are 7 major countries, all with parralells to our history,and two "mysterious" countries that so far, we can only guess about. Pirates are a well known factor of life, and a danger to any sea going traffic as well as a long dead ancient civilisation...The Synerth, whose artifacts are highly prized by the rich and powerful of Theah.

As in our time line, the Church is an all emposing, over powering presence in the world. The Vacatine Church is a major political power in it's own right. It's capital is in Castille, and the Inquisition is in full swing in that country. As for others, well, more will be said about that in the country overveiws below. This church follows the teaching of Three Prophets, with each Prophet being of a different nature and Philosphy from the other, so factionism and different schisms have appeared, not to mention heretics, reformationist and...the list goes on.

Magic is also a part of this world, but not in every country and not in the same way. The magics are culturally tuned, a nice touch, and will be briefly discussed in the country descriptions that are linked to the buttons below

As the magic is culturally identifiable, so are the fighting styles, depending on the country of birth will identify a person by the fightins style that they have learnt. Each country has their own fighting schools, their own strengths and weaknesses, and again will be explanined briefly in each country overview.
