Estimate the area of the viola by calculating the equation of the curve for the edge of the viola and then taking the integral to find the area. You could do this by calculating the length of a plane curve. There is a link to an example of this on my main site. Another way to find the area is to use Riemann Sums or the Trapezoid rule, etc, a link to which is also on my main site. This way you could find the area.
