Out of Body Experiences

What is an Out of Body Experience?
     Out of Body Experiences (OBEs) are a phenomenon in which the person experiencing feels as though they have left the physical body. When they are in this state, the experiencers ususally claim that they can see things or do things that normally they couldn't do in the physical body. Usually people experience a sensation of flying in this state also.
     Experiencers also say that they feel that there is a type of "astralchord" that holds the spiritual body to the physical body. In the event that something should happen to the body the "astral chord" pulls the experiencer back into the physical body.

How do I know if I have had an OBE?
     When you have an OBE you are in a trance like state. Your mind is awake but your body is asleep. You feel like you are moving your arms and legs but the physical body does not move. This can happen when you relax while staring to a fire, or when you are in a deep relaxation. There are many, many ways in which you can have an OBE, and many ways in which to go about having one.

     I have had a couple OBE's that I can remember, however I didn't go very far. The one that I remember the most is that I was at my mom's house in between a break in classes at Wright State University. Mom was at work and my step-dad Nick was in bed sleeping. I laid down on the couch to take a nap. I could feel myself falling asleep and dreaming.
     Then I remember I was looking at me asleep on the couch, I was a little worried about this. Almost as soon as I started to worry I was back in my body. I knew I was laying on the couch but my body felt numb. I tried to move my arms and legs, but nothing happened. All of the sudden my body jerked and I woke up. I was shaken up about this, but I have never told anyone about this until just now.
     There have been other times where I could feel my arms and legs moving but I would be lying completely still. It is an eerie feeling, but I still think that it is neat when it happens.
