The by-law committie is of yet still under construction of these but right now this is what we have
PRIORITY: STANDING ORDERS
Since the opening of the Embassy, a number of issues concerning
the stability of our organization have come up that need to be
addressed. Among those issues are:
Ø Absence from special Embassy events for personal pursuit.
Ø Lack of attention to personal appearance at Embassy meetings
and/or events.
Ø Personal pursuits interfering with or hindering Embassy
operations and/or personnel.
Ø Personal conflicts interfering with or hindering Embassy
function and/or personnel.
Ø Conduct unbecoming a Vulcan Embassy Members.
In and among themselves these issues are minor, but if left
unattended they can and will cause further problems, which will
influence, even damage the Embassy's appearance of integrity.
Therefor, what I propose is that we adopt a CODE OF CONDUCT,
which can be put into our bylaws later.
This CODE OF CONDUCT will cover each of the issues stated above.
In general, since we the members of the Vulcan Embassy are now
under the scrutiny of the public, we must at all times conduct
ourselves appropriately. To be more specific, participation at
special events run by other organizations shows a commitment to
the Embassy and our cause. Attention to ones personal appearance,
whether that be grooming, hygiene, or apparel, is important no
matter where you are. This is to whom it may concern. There are
personal hygiene problems among us. Please take care of it. Just
as foul language can be offensive to others, so can our hygiene.
Although the Embassy does not frown on fraternizing, it does
frown on personal pursuits that are not conducted in the proper
manner, thus interfering with or hindering Embassy operations, or
another member's duties. Personal conflicts with a fellow member,
or a member of another organization, can not interfere with or
hinder Embassy operations, or another member's duties. This is of
the utmost importance, because the Embassy depends on each and
everyone of us to perform our duties no matter what. If, for what
ever reason, the personal conflict can not be dispensed with well
enough to perform ones duties, then those duties need to be
turned over to someone else until such time as that person is
able to function appropriately. Our conduct not only reflects our
ability to perform your duties; it also reflects on the Embassy
it self.
Unnecessary emotions are to be kept out of Embassy affairs. I.e.
All romantic entanglements and other personal problems will be
taken up outside of Embassy time. Personal problems with other
Star Trek groups will be handled by the commanding officers.
Remember ladies, and gentlemen, this is supposed to be a fun
affair, which is only fiction. It is meant for entertainment, not
a life style. Moreover, as Vulcans, it is important for us to
show the other organizations that we can overcome those trifles
and petty differences that so often interfere where humans are
concerned.h
