A tale of Thor's youth. Loki tricksThor into a wager where he must join mortals in an expedition to the new world and not use his powers. Their adventures are frought with danger, of course caused by Loki violating the terms of their wager. Once Thor realizes that Loki has cheated, he uses his powers to save the remaining mortals and returns to extract revenge on Loki. However, Thor has learned that mortals have courage equal to his own and that his own pride was at fault. Jay's Notes:

Mongoose recruits Quicksand in his quest to get a tissue sample from Thor for his employers. The Enchantress is given the opportunity to save her sister's life at the cost of her own and refuses. Lorelei is taken into the embrace of Hela. Quicksand attacks the construction site where Thor has resumed his identity as Siguard Jarlson, and draws Thor out. Thor refuses a summons from Asgard since there are mortal lives in danger. |

Thor continues to battle Quicksand, while the Mongoose procures a tissue sample. Quicksand retreats as the Enchantress tests the power of the new Executioner. Realizing that it isn't Skurge, Thor takes the offensive and defeats him. Odin. upset that Thor refused his summons, transports him to Asgard. |

Thor explains to Odin why he didn't heed the summons and Odin is disgusted by his son's disregard for Asgard. A rash of strange murders lead Thor, Balder and the Warriors Three to investigate. They discover that Annihilus has been absorbing Asgardian lifeforces and attack. However, Annihilus keeps them busy as Asgard slips into the Neutral Zone. Jay's Notes:

Annihilus defeats Thor and Balder and proceeds to Asgard with his sights set on absorbing Odin's lifeforce. Meanwhile, Sif pleads to Odin on Thor's behalf. Thor recovers in time to confront Annihilus before he reaches Odin, but Odin himself steps in and defeats Annihilus. Thor receives Odin's blessing to return to Earth, because Mongoose has kidnapped Eric Masterson, and Odin empowers Mjolnir with power for one final contact with Asgard, now that it is in the Neutral Zone. |

Thor pursues Mongoose to Wundagore where he is attacked by the Knights of Wundagore. During the battle, Thor saves the lives of one of the Knights and the others refuse to continue the battle. Count Tagar reveals that the Mongoose has fled, but that Thor can help them in their quest to rescue the High Evolutinary and Hercules from the Black Galaxy. Thor agrees and Eric Masterson joins them in their Stellar Telejump into the Black Galaxy. Jay's Notes:

The Recorder joins Thor and company and informs them that the Colonizers has sent a Null Bomb to destroy the Black Galaxy. Thor, always the protector of life, leads his companions to destroy the bomb. Unfortunately, they are attacked by the bio-verse's antibodies and the Knights of Wundagore are killed. Thor channels the power of the Null Bomb into a dead sun reigniting it. He also manages to free Hercules and the High Evolutionary, although the motives of the Celestial have them puzzled. |

Thor and his companions return to Wundagore on Earth. Thor, Eric, and Hercules depart, but are attacked by the Mongoose. Eric sacrifices himself to save Thor's life. Mongoose flees. Thor uses his last summons to contact Odin and ask him to save Eric. Impressed by his son's selflessness, Odin merges Eric with Thor, saving his life. Jay's Notes:

Eric struggles to adjust his life balancing in his new alter-ego Thor. A mysterious robot is on rampage and Thor and Hercules investigate. They engage the Time-Bot and learn that it's master is Dr. Doom. The Time-Bot captures Mjolnir and escapes with Doom, while Thor after sixty seconds reverts back to Eric Masterson. Jay's Notes:

Hercules convinces Cap to lend him a Quinjet and She-Hulk is asked to tag along. Meanwhile. Doom uses Mjolnir in a time displacer machine to freeze time in Latveria so that he may confront Kristoff and regain control of his country. Hercules, Eric and She-Hulk battle through Doom's robots to recover Mjolnir and transform Eric back into Thor. With time unfrozen, Doom is forced to withdraw, but he is later approached by a mysterious villain and convinced to join the Acts of Vengeance. |
