Thanehand's Deck Archive
In this vault has been stored an archive of decks. Each of the races of Middle-Earth can be found here. These are for the use of the young mortals who seek advice as they set out on the road to fame. Experienced Wizards and Wraith sometimes use this vault to save time. Whoever you are, good luck and I hope you can find lore of use in your quest.

Strategy
Halbarad goes to the Grey Havens on the first turn, with an escort of one of the other companies (unless you really want to play two resources first turn). He remains there all game playing Marvels Told and using the Old Roads and Lordly Presences to play the NW'rn factions.
The other two companies play the resources as they turn up. All should be playable near the Anduin Vales allowing economy of movement and avoiding the danger areas (Dragon country, Mordor etc). When a Saruman turns up use him to replace a weak member of one of the companies. Do not play characters just cause you drew them, play characters only to replace casualties or to get MPs at the end of the game (unless you can form a fourth company containing both a scout and a ranger).
When Saruman is in play sideboard in five spells to you discard pile then bring them to your hand as neccessary. Just before playing Sac of Form bring in The White Wizard. Saruman + Sac of Form + White Wizard + Wizard's Voice should allow you to try influencing away opponent's resources. Bring in Alliance of Free Peoples just before exhausting your deck. The women can be used quite effectivly with Ride Against the Enemy against Ringwraiths.

Strategy
This deck is built for one thing, to prevent minions from being able to do anything other than sit at a site and build up cancellers to move. Later on when you have the swords and fellowships you can go kick the s*#t out of his weakened party.
The resource deck is a variant of the Radagast deck build around the eastern side of the map, so be careful of dragon ahunts. Just hang around Mordor waiting for the ideal time to stike. The noble steeds are a nice addition as they can cancel strikes and are playable at tapped sites.
Fiarly straightforward sideboard... Bring in the White Tree and
the White Wizard after playing the Sapling Of The White Tree and Sacrifice Of Form respectively.

History
This deck was played to good effect in the Warpcon Tournament of 1997. Although it didn't win it did come close and surprised a lot of people along the way. Many of its opponents spent so long looking for an overall plan that they forgot to concentrate on their own game. Its strength lies in its versatility, regardless of what strategy your opponent employs you should be able to combat it effectivly. Similarly your strategy is not dependant on any one area or site type so you should be able to adapt to avoid the brunt of it. Another strength is its ease of play. There are no complicated combo's to remember or pull off so a beginner has no problems. Having said that it is probably getting a bit dated.

History
The winning deck of Warpcon '97, this deck had a winning streak which made many feel that destiny was at work. The deck certainly has weaknesses but when it works, oh how it works. This is a real roleplaying deck. You are presented with a challenge to unite the great love of the Third Age and to let their love unite a nation. OK a bit soppy but really epic. This deck merges the need for compeditivness and the desire for storyline.
