Joxer brings a letter from Ares to Xena (who is still trapped in Callisto's body) telling her that there is a contest. It turns out that Ares' sword has been stolen and his godhood along with it. With no God of War, warriors become more focused and peacefull people become violent. Ares asks Xena for her help to retrieve his sword. She agrees when she sees Gabrielle becoming more and more violent. She leaves Gabrielle behind and goes off to check out the contest for Ares' godhood. Gabrielle becomes frustrated and along with Joxer follows Xena to the island. In order to win Ares' godhood a warrior must defeat the monster known as the Baracchus. Gabrielle thristy for blood goes off in search of it with Joxer following her. She steals his sword and runs off to kill it. Joxer finds the Baracchus first (which turns out to be a large fan like thing) and breaks it/kills it. The pair meet up with Xena again and tell her of Joxer's "kill." Xena finds out that the man who arranged the contest (who claims he's Ares) had made a deal with Hades that if he sent ten warlords to Hades he would become the new God of War. Ares gains his sword back and everything is put back the right way. Xena is also returned to her old body. |

Joxer: "Gabrielle, you sure Xena wants you following her to the island?"
Gabrielle: "Of course she does. Now, just shut up and go over there. Way over there." |

Joxer: "Whereas, people like you--innocent and sweet--don't have that kind of bloodlust. Whereas, I am the picture of self control. Come back here, you little winged thing! I am gonna rip your little body to pie--shh shh. Ha-ha-ha-ha!"
Gabrielle: "You've snapped, haven't you?" |

Joxer: "Prepare to feel the might of Joxer the Invincible! My sword--Oh!"
Gabrielle: "That's it?! That's the Baracchus?!"
Joxer: "Suck on this toothpick for awhile!"
Gabrielle: "Somebody's gonna pay for this!"
Joxer: "Ha-ha-ha! Look at me now!" |
