The Hockey Mask Jason wears fast became an Icon synonymous with Jason
Voorhees. It was not until the 3rd movie in the series however that he first got the Hockey Mask.
A symbol so prevalent that many people even today whenever they see a Hockey Mask think of Jason.
In stores around Halloween you can buy cheap plastic versions of Jason's Hockey Mask. Although
they are not the same as the ones used in the movie. Careful observers and fans of the movie series will know
that there were several different masks used in the film series.
The mask just like Jason has taken a hell of a beating! In "Friday The 13th Part III Jason's
mask gets a nice split just to the center left of the top of the mask by an axe. It's kind of hard to say whether or not Jason was
still a normal mortal at this point simply because he has already taken a lot of fatal punishment prevalent by one of his victims terrified comment:
"You can't still be alive... You can't be!"
More like a "metaphysical, supernatural psycho-metaphor, the Dark One, the epitome of wanton Evil." (Fangoria no.75)
At the end of "Friday The 13th Part VI"
Jason is lured out into the middle of a Crystal Lake by Tommy Jarvis where he gets the left side of his hockey mask broken off by an outboard boat propeller,
probably his neck broken to as you hear a loud crunch and his head snaps to one side. Jason then sinks to the bottom of Crystal Lake
held down by a heavy chain around his neck where he spends the next ten years getting a little fish nibbled and water logged.
Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) returns for more killing in Part VII when Tina Shepard (Lar Park Lincoln) a girl with telekinetic powers wishes for her father to return who
died in Crystal Lake. Unfortunately instead of her father returning from a watery grave she brings Jason back instead.
