A Flight of Futures
As I flew by, in azure skies,
O'er fields of jadestone green,
I beheld a light of futures bright
Beyond any I'd ever seen.
The glory, the pain, the shadows, the gain:
All wrapped up as a gift so bright-
Bittersweet tears, your children's years;
Beyond the reach of any sight.
Watch them play and shout, cultivate growing inside and out;
Save the little feet that tread behind.
Take eyes off self, look to all else
And feel the beauty that God must find.
Sunlight clear, murky dim, bind your eyes to see within,
Fall not to the snow.
Be truly wise, use hands and eyes
To heal the heartache below.
Close the hour, gone the power
To cry and save the loon.
Raise your light to banish the night-
Salvation comes never too soon.
