***Nikita has just announced (24/03/2002) he's quitting, someone offered to continue Hosting current games, no name yet, or word on whether the tournament will continue beyond 7th round which has just started*** Highly recommended ongoing tournament play. Host Armin "Nikita" Trott has been running his Andromeda tournament since 1996. With 5 levels, each using a different map and addons, and several hundred players. He also runs a number of games outside the tournament, usually with several different addons each. Planets 4 games as well.
Another fine automated Host. Lots of players, lots of different games. Some games are Ladder ranked.

The VGAP Ladder home page. Play in games registered with this site and you'll gradually build a sense of how your abilities stack up against the rest of the community. Also keeps track of how reliable a player you in terms of turns missed and playing games to completion even when you're not doing so well.

Odds are pretty darn good not everyone in your game will speak English
as their first language. Some won't speak it at all. This site
will allow you to communicate anyway. Just copy text into the window
and tell it what language you want it translated from and to and it does
it. Then either read a received message in your own language or send
one to other players in theirs. It's not a perfect program but useful
to get your point across.
What is a Babel Fish? The Babel Fish is small,
yellow and leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It
feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier but from those
around it. The practical upshot of all this is that if you stick a Babel
Fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any
form of language. The speech patterns you actually hear decode the brainwave
matrix which has been fed into your mind by your Babel Fish. Meanwhile,
the poor Babel Fish, by effectively removing all barriers to communication
between different races and cultures, has caused more and bloodier wars
than anything else in the history of creation.' (From The Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy by the late, great, Douglas Adams.)
