Signs of the Moon

Well...people say that you can tell your general outcome on life by the phase of the moon during your birth (check your library and they should be able to know). Did you know that if you were born on:
  • the dark of the moon then you're life will be greeted with rejoicing.
  • Waxing moon are a good omen and you'll grow as the moon grows.
  • Waning moon are a protected from harm by charms, amulets, and rituals.

Did you know that people's attitude's change with the moon...esp. in alzeimer's patients because during the full moon they become crankier and crazier. That is why they were named "lunatics"...luna means moon and during the full moon these people were acting stranger so they called them 'lunatics'. Just a little trivia fact.

The Moons of the Year

During the earlier times, witches used to count their years by moons(thirteen moons equal one year). They would also name each moon to remember the passing:
January - Wolf Moon
February - Storm Moon
March - Chaste Moon
April - Seed Moon
May - Hare Moon
June - Pair Moon
July - Mead Moon
August - Green Plant (Wyrt) Moon
September - Barley Moon
October - Blood Moon
November - Snow Moon
December - Oak Moon
The one month when the moon appears twice - Blue Moon
