This launch chamber houses all five X-84 Starfighters. The pilots enter the chamber via the elevator platform (or main elevator) in the center of the room and access their own ships via the personal elevator and walkway. Access to the elevator platform is gained through hallways which connect the lower level of the chamber to the rest of the ship. These hallways flank the exhaust chambers, located directly below each ship, which redirect the smoke and flames from the ship's engine into the exhaust vents. The exhaust vents, in turn, send the exhaust into the empty space around the ring and out of the chamber.

The hangar is secured with hand-print and voice-print identification systems on the doors of the lower level. After all of the pilots are inside the lower level and have been cleared, the doors open, allowing access to the center area where the main elevator will pick them up. Before the main elevator is lowered, the outer access doors are sealed, preventing anyone else from coming in.

The ship is fueled by a retractible fuel line prior to launch. This fuel line is retracted before the pilots enter the chamber. Fuel is stored in large fuel tanks, behind the thick walls of the chamber which are insulated from the heat and flames. While fueling is done automatically, repairs and weapons loading are still manual. Maintenance crews are allowed inside the chamber to make repairs on the ships and on the chamber itself prior to launch. Maintenance access to the chamber's inner parts is gained via a service hallway, which is locked with a security code. Ballistic teams are allowed inside the chamber to load the weapons on the Starfighters prior to launch, using the main elevator to bring the missiles into the hangar.

There are only two such launch chambers in existence today, both virtually identical. One resides underground at a secret test facility that is a part of Nellis Air Force Base. The other is actually aboard the Star Force Transport (SFT), which carries the Starfighters through space.
