So begins the charter of the USS Enterprise, but its truthfulness is not limited to that one ship. It extends to her sister ship, the USS Grail. The Grail is going out into the dreaded Delta Quadrant, in pursuit of the USS Voyager, believed to be stranded in that cold, pitiless purgatory. How long will it take the Grail to find the Voyager? A decade, if not longer. But that is not the real question here. The real question is: Will they come back alive?
Starfleet Command hopes not. To perform this mission they have sent the best: A Galaxy Class starship and the best and the brightest officers. Well, almost. After all, the Galaxy Class starship is being replaced by the Sovereign Class and these geniuses have faults. They are too aggressive, or too 'disruptive'. Or perhaps Starfleet has taken them for all they are worth and doesn't need them any more.
Whatever the case, it all boils down to one thing. Command is afraid of them, for whatever reason. And so, these soldiers are being sent to the Delta Quadrant to chase a ghost.
And what of you? Are you the officer with an attitude? Did you perform one too many 'black ops' missions? Have you some shameful secret in your past? Do you refuse to conform to "Starfleet Standard"? Were you the 'wrong' race (i.e.: having a Cardassian, Romulan, etc., heritage)? Do you simply wish to explore the galaxy, even at the increased risk to your life? Or is there something else, something that can't even be guessed at? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, this is where you belong. Your time has come, soldier. You are now being called upon to perform the boldest, most daring, hopeless recognizance missions in the history of Alpha Quadrant.
