I saw her as she stared at me lying in the mud. Her purple hair hung around her gazing, pitch black, eyes. I stared back into them, wondering who she was and what made her the way she was. I took a quick glance at her body and the clothes she wore. Like leather, only scaled. It looked like she had taken the skin from a lizard and sewn it together. Her white shirt under the jacket, was stained with the mud from my fall. At her waist hung a gun, silver and long in shape; like something off of a Sci-fi flick you used to see in the eighties. She offered her hand to help me from my spot on the ground and I took it.

"We'd better get going", she said, looking behind us. I couldn't tell whether she was frightened or not, as the blackness of her eyes gave no hint of fear or emotion. "It won't be long before they catch up to us. We don't want that, now do we?", she stressed, looking me in the eyes.

I looked around me, at my surroundings and wondered just where I was this time. Where had my dreams taken me... and who was they? I had to have some answers before actions were made.

"Who are you?", I started. "Where am I? What are you doing with the gun?"

"Woah, slow down! You'll get your answers," she replied. "My name is Sierra of Majero, and you are in the New Kingdom of Mavious. Mavious is the leader of them. That is what the gun is for... them."

    "Who is them?"

Suddenly her eyes grew wide and she grabbed my arm to jerk me along with her as she began to run.

"They are the one behind us!"

I turned my head as quick as I could to try and catch a gimpse at what she called them and they. What I saw only made my feet pound the ground to try and get away from the nightmare behind me.

Monsters so tall I had no idea how it was our tiny bodies kept ahead as well as they did. Eyes so large I wondered in a passing thought whether they could see the whole World in one glace or not. I could hear the rumbling of their bodies for each breath they took and each step they walked. I felt the fear in me bubble up as Sierra told me to run faster.

"I know a way to get away for a little while," she screamed back at me, "Come on!".

She pulled me to the right toward a group of trees, and before I could protest we were through the trees and flying over the edge of a cliff. I saw the water rushing towards me as we hit with a hard splash.
