Requium

"I've seen things that I cannot deny"

Having seen requrium numerous times, and discussing it extensivley on my mailing lists, I thought it was time for a review.

First, I must say, who did not like this episode? Both shippers and Noromos could find something wonderful about this ep. (Especially shippers!).

Now, with that said, I am not a big fan of the mythology eps, and finale eps are ALWAYS mythology, right? So, in getting ready for Requrium, I wasn't really, um, jumpin' on the walls. But I am a spoiler reader, and I saw that pic of huggin' M and S, and heard about Scully's vertigo. I was getting kinda hyped. But then I saw the opener, and I was like, 'Here we go again.'But was I in for a happy surprise!

Budget reports. Intresting. What shipper did not like Mulder's line about sharing rooms? He didn't sound like he was joking either, folks! I also really liked what Scully said to Mr. Budget Man. First, about how TXF opens doors, which lead to other doors. Exactly! It just made it feel not so pointless for me anymore. And then, Scully's "I've seen things, that I cannot deny." How far has Scully come? Yes, she is not to the extreme of Mulder, and I feel she is still a teeny weeny bit in denial, (though, she hasn't seen everything Mulder has) but I don't think we would have heard something like that from her, even a year ago. Incredible. In the next scene, we see Scully looking at the "I want to believe" poster. Does this not prove my point extremely well? :)

Okay, so then we see Mulder enter the office. I love his line about "reducing his vision" a little bit. And look at Scully! The old Scully would have scolded Mulder for doing such a thing. Now she just laughs along with Mulder. I love it.

So, then Billy calls, and we are brought "full circle." As mentioned a hundred times before by other people, I adore this. How symbolic is that? Look how far we've come? Oh Lord, I get chills thinking about it. Oh, and, "let's go waste some money." Yeah Scully!!! Woo hoo.

This is my review, so I am going to skip ahead a little ways. Go out, talk to Billy, orange X (woo hoo, BTW) bullet shells ... yadda yadda yadda,

Scully and the baby!!!!!! I love it, I think my heart melted more than Mulder's did. "Once upon a time, there was a little baby." Lovin' it.

Okay. Drum roll please. THE BED SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay. I'm done now. Seriously. we have come far. Look how much Mulder has matured. It's not just about him anymore. He's not the self rightous smart ass he used to be. He cares about the personal risks. And who has opened his eyes? Ding ding ding! SCULLY!! But, oh Lord, I was so scared. It's not worth it?????????? How can you say that??? Oh, okay. Just the quest. No big deal. :P (I'm kidding. I'm kidding).

Okay. The energy field. Very very wierd. I still get shudders. Good job, special effects people. That's all I have to say about that.

How wierd was it to see everyone in the same room, WORKING TOGETHER!! Okay. I have to say it. Ready? KRYCHEK IS HOT!!!! Done now.

What is it with hallways? Momento Mori, The movie, Amor Fati, and now this ... I get it! Hallways have doors. Doors lead to new beginnings ....Oooo, fan fic idea. (Sorry got lost in a tangent). Six words. "I won't let you go alone." The silent communication, the need for touch to seal promises, the love, ahhhh ...

I must say that I am sad to see the black lunged SOB leave. William B. Davis did an exellent job playing him. I think CSM is the best villian in history. Of course, is he really dead???? Hmmm, we shall see.

Was Mulder wearing Scully's cross? Or was it the zipper? I still can't figure it out.

Okay. Before I say it, I must warn you, that I have VERY strong opinions about this. So please bear with my stubroness. Ready? Here we go. SCULLY"S PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All right. I'm back to halfway rational now. When I first heard the rumors at the haven, I was just ... surprised that anyone would think such a thing, but what a way to get us to come back!! First off though, it's Mulder's baby. I won't take no for an answer. The proof: Hello? all things. Or Je Shiouete. You choose. Scully's smile at the end. I wouldn't be smilin' like that if I hadn't had sex in seven years, and ended up pregnant. I would have been screaming. So :P. Also, as I mentioned before, Mulder's, "We could start sharing rooms" didn't sound all that sarcastic to me.

Last but not least, kudos to all the actors. GA, DD, MP. Lovely job, folks. GA and DD did an exellent job in all the shipper scenes. DD did a wonderful job while he looked at Scully and the baby, Scully's "I'm pregnant," well, really that whole scene, actually, left me spellbound, and MP. That last scene was the best thing I have ever seen him do. He was actually crying. God, I love that man.

The best season finale I have seen. Brilliant. I can't believe DD will only be in eight eps, but I am still counting the hours till the premiere.
