What is "KEROSENE BISQUE?"
Kerosene Bisque is a weekly newspaper strip currently in development by everybody's favorite submarginal genius.
It revolves around the life of one Susan Eastwood, young, intelligent, vibrant, something of a cynic she lives amongst a small desert colony on a distant planet. She has a tremendous capacity to deal with technology, tearing apart and rebuilding the various gadgets and contraptions used by people in her era.
She spends lots of time in her garage working on kites.
This is a Kite, it is the primary transportaion of the younger generation on Agora. Kites are cheap, reliable transportation and are incredibly compliant to upgrades and modifications. Much like the Honda Civic of today.
A Kite is something like an Ultralight only constructed with much stronger materials. Thus it can withstand greater stresses making it capable of incredible manuverability and very high speeds.
To the annoyance of the elders the interest in the modification and racing of these little airplanes is very popular with the younger crowd.
Though Kerosene Bisque takes place in an entirely fictional world it contains many anachronisms. You will notice things springing up, objects we have grown accustom to useing in daily life cell phones, references to popular music, or current events. This is to not distance the reader too far from reality and to maintain a readability by most anyone.
Other stuff...
Juno, Sue's friend, usual hangups on fashion, guys and all around vanity.
Antonio "Tony" Racliffe is Sue's mortal enemy, he's something of a prick. Juno thinks he's cute.
Cliff Racliffe, Tony's cousin, nice enough guy. Sue thinks he's hot but she was told he has an aversion to greasemonkeys so she hides this aspect of herself when he's around. In reality he'd probably think a girl who knows her way around a garage is pretty cool.
They all go out and have adventures.
