Key Characters: Future versions of Magneto (who's in a wheelchair), Wolverine, Shadowcat, Racheal Summers, Storm Colossus, and the Sentinals as well as thier current counterparts , Senetor Kelly.
Synopsis: One day, the X-Posse ws just sitting around, laughing and having fun (yeah right), when Shadowcat starts being all weird. A futer version of herself is talking to the X-Men through her younger self (got that?), warning them of an apoctalyptic (no, not him) future where America is under Sentinal rule. They are warned to stop the Assasination of Senetor Kelly, an anti-mutant senetor who'd death would result in the enactment of the mutant control act, which would be enforced by the sentinals. The Sentinals would be given too much power, though, and they would deem it necissary to conquer the world to exterminate mutants.
The X-Men tried feverishly to prevent thies events from happening, and i just realized i never read the damn story, so i don't know just what exactly happened.... However, they did eventualy triumph.... (I'll add more detail once i read the story), however, in the future, the X-Men failed. Wolverine was burnt to a crisp (Except his adamantium), and Colossus and Storm were killed just as easy, and most of the other mutants were exterminated, too.
The Next Day: Or did they? A 3-part special starring wolverine in this time came out a few months ago, with such details like Baron Zemos Thunderbolts, Psylocke having the crimson dawn tattoo(and being evil, to boot), the sentinals looking like Prime sentinals, Leach, Synch and Jubilee being all grown up and leading a resistance movement... things that were never touched on (but to be fair to the writers, none of theses exsisted when the story took place, but still... it could affect future history... whatever that is...)
Ramifications: The X-Men now live in constant fear of these events, even though they may not happen. We were treated to one of the more gruesome scenes in comics (seeing Wolvie's skin get fried, only to see an adamantium hand with claws land in front of Storm and Colossus), and the standard of a new storyline every summer was all but set.
