MUTANT MASSACRE
SET UP: Uh, there really wasn't one. The X-Posse was just sitting on thier duffs when the Morlocks asked for thier help. When the X-Men (Wolverine, Storm, Psylocke, Rouge, Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Shadowcat), X-Factor (Cyclops, Marvel girl, Beast, Iceman and Angel), and Thor (The Avengers resident God of Thunder) finally got to the tunnles, hundreds of the homless mutants were already dead or dying, with more fleeing through the tunnles...
STORY: This was the handy work of Mr. Sinister and several mutants called the Murauders (Sabretooth, Riptide, Virtigo, Harpoon, and some other guys who's names I forget at the moment...) were responsible. The heroes jumped to the rescue. Boy, did they regret it...
In the proccess, Angels wings were destroyed, Colossus became parylized in his armored state (magneto was able to eventualy heal him), Shadowcat was beat so bad she started "phasing" out of existance (and it took the combined efforts of Dr.Doom and Reed Richards to cure her), Nightcrawler got gutted but good, and noe that I think of it, Psylocke was the only one who escaped injury, and Wolverines healing abilities helped him and Rouge out, and with thier defeat, they retreated. Mikhail, Colossus's brother, teleported the remaining Morlocks to an alternate dimension, and for all intents and purposes, Mr. Sinister won that day. But that wasn't the end...
Sabretooth followed the weakened X-Men home, and beat them silly, until he fell over a cliff. During the many fights, Sabretooth intimate that he was Wolverines real father. And even though that was a lie, people still think about it.
RAMIFICATIONS: Nightcrawler and Shadowcat went to Muir Isle for treatment, and stayed in England to head up Excaliber, along with Captian Brittian (Brian Braddok, Psylockes brother) and some other folks. It got the Morlocks off Earth and away from the X-Men (So one would have to write about them ever again), (Even though they eventualy did), And it lead the way to reveal Gambit as the scum he is (Having first organized the Murauders for a metalic egg of some sort), and it handed the X-folks thier first leathal defeat. Not only did they fail, but they all almost died.
NOTES: It is unknown why Mr.Sinister did this. Some people believe it was because the Dark Beast (From the AoA) was down there using advanced technology that Mr. Sinister wanted. Or that Mr. Sinister deamed the Morlocks "unfit" for mutant evolution. Or maybe that by shedding a lot of blood that Marvel could sell more books. In any case, it worked.
