The pals

Hey!

This page has stuff about the X-Mens occasional allies who either have thier own titles or they're just plain obscure. But for what ever reason, these people are freinds of the X-Men, and deserve a page! Also i can't list everyone, so i put down why they're on here!

ALPHA FLIGHT

Did you just call us HOSERS? WHAT'S THIER DEAL? Alpha Flight (shown here in it's most recent incarnation of Flex, Puck, Radius, Sasquatch, Gaurdian, Murmur, Vindicator [flying], and Manbot) is Canada's resident Super-team. They have close ties to the X-Men (Gaurdian, Puck, and Vindicator are all personal friends of Wolverine). However, they usualy fight more than cooperate, usualy over Wolverine.

WHY'D THEY MAKE THE LIST? Um, thier book just got cancelled, but they still pop up here and there (Puck was in a recent issue of X-Men), and the whole team appeared just after Operation: Zero Tolerance. Who knows, maybe they'll be back around someday. And even though thier book is cancelled, the team hasn't disbanded... yet.

THE AVENGERS

You take care of the villians... I'LL tackle the dirt! WHAT'S THIER DEAL? They are Earth's Mightiest heroes, and last line of defense against Evil gods, planet-eating aliens, Masters of evil and people who don't like pie. (Shown: Thor, Iron-Man, Jarvis, Vision [flying], Scarlet witch, Captian America, and Beast).

WHY'D THEY MAKE THE LIST? WHY? Are you nuts or just dumb? They're the AVENGERS. Captian America, Thor, Iron man, the BIG GUNS of the Marvel Universe. Heck, even Beast has had a few stints with the Avengers. They've both teamed up with and beaten on the X-Men numerous times, and whenever things get to big for the X-Men, they call the residents of that mansion in Manhattan, home of THE EARTHS MIGHTIEST HEROES, THE AVENGERS!

DR. VALERY (Val) COOPER

I don't have a pic yet WHAT'S HER DEAL? Dr. "Val" Cooper is the government liason on mutant affairs, and ocasional ally of the X-Men. She is also a known advocate of mutant rights. She also formerly lead X-factor, until it's break-up from the government.

WHY'D SHE MAKE THE LIST? Well, she's a major player with small parts. After all, whenever the X-Men are i trouble, she pulls thier fat out of the fire. She also was forced to arrest Charles Xavier for being Onslaught. She also recently appeared to warn the X-Men of the false X-Men, as well. Not bad for a government sheep...

DEADPOOL (AKA Wade Wilson)

that an anvil? WHAT'S HIS DEAL? Wade Wilson was a man dying of cancer. As a result of the weapon X experiments, his whole body became a cancerous mass, making him quite insane, but able to heal so fast it makes Wolverine look slow. This self-proclaimed "Merc with a Mouth" will crack any joke at any time, all while cracking your back.

WHY'D HE MAKE THE LIST? Well, he's a long time foe of Wolverine. In his first mini-series, he went up against Black Tom cassidy and Juggernaught, tossing them both out of a plane (actualy, he just dropped Tom and Juggs leapt after him), and also had a love-affair with X-Forces Syrin. And he's just too damn funny!

FANTASTIC FOUR

STRIKE A POSE! Oh, oh oh, vouge vouge! WHAT'S THIER DEAL? Reed and Sue Richards, along with Sue's brother Johnny Storm and Reed's friend Ben Grimm were the first family in space, and were bombarded with cosmic rays. Reed (calling himself Mr. Fantastic) gained the ability to stretch, Sue (Invisible girl/woman) can turn invisible and project force feilds, Jonny (The Human Torch) could burst into flames and fly, and Ben (The Thing) became a huge circus peanut-covered monster. With nothing better to do, they decided to become a super team, naming themselves the Fantastic Four.

WHY'D THEY MAKE THE LIST? They're Marvel's first super-team, and they've teamed up with the X-Men on occasion. Also, Reed and Sues mutant son, Franklin, was the focus of Onslaughts goals durring, well, Onslaught. And besides, they're just all nice people.

DETECTIVE CHARLOTTE JONES

Next one to call me 'The female Shaft' gets a cap in THIER ass, too... WHAT'S HER DEAL?: Charlotte Jones is a former love of Archangel's. However, distance (And Archangel's arrogance) and duty seperated the two. NOt to mention that Warren discretly dumped her for Psylocke. She now serves as a NYC detective, and has a son, Timmy.

WHY'D SHE MAKE THE LIST?:She's tough as nails, and makes more appearences in X-Men than anyone else on this list. She helped the X-Men against Gene Nation, and was a key player (or a pawn, rather) in Operation: Zero Tolerance. however, i personaly doubt she'll be making any more appearances in the near future.

SGT. NICK FURY

I want my COFFEE DAMMIT! WHAT'S HIS DEAL? Nicholas Fury is all man. After a grenade shard hit him in the eye, he refused surgery that would save his vision so he could stay in the war (WW2 to you!). He later went on to lead a highly-specialized combat team known as the Howling Commandos. Fury was eventualy promoted to lead S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Hazard Intevention and Espionage Logistics Directorate). He was killed by the Punisher, only to "get better" revealing that he had to go under cover.

WHY'D HE MAKE THE LIST? Well, as if the above didn't impress you, Fury is also on good terms with the X-Men, and has interveened on thier behalf and teamed up with them several times. Plus he's pals with Captian America, who everyone likes, anyway. He also recently appeared to contact the X-Men to take down Pyro, which lead to the whole "search for Xavier" storyline.

DR. MOIRA MAC TAGGART

I dinnea have a pic yet WHAT'S HER DEAL? Moira Mac Taggart, an old colegue of Charles Xavier, is currently the head doctor at Muir Isle, the world's leading genetic research center. It has also become the treatment center for those inflicted with the Legacy Virus. Moira herself is the only human to have contracted the leathal virus (That is, if she's a human to begin with).

WHY'D SHE MAKE THE LIST? Well, she's been in the X-books for a long time, being one of the X-Men's closest allies. She even got alot more page time when Excalaber had thier base of operations moved to muir isle. She survived the tortures of Fabian Cortez, and has had flings with both Xavier and Banshee. Her son, Kevin (Proteus) almost destroyed the X-Men, too. Moira herself is an interesting character, and is usualy there to lend a hand when big mutant things happen. However, she has since secluded herself to better study the legacy Virus.

SPIDERMAN (aka Peter Parker)

Whee! Swinging on webs is FUN! WHAT'S HIS DEAL?: A.K.A. Peter Parker, He was a high-school student at a science demonstration when he was bitten by an irradiated (and likely irritated!) spider. Peter soon found out he had the propotionate speed, strength, and agility of a spider, as well as a "spider-sense" which warns him of impending danger. He used thies powers at first to make money as a wrestler, but failed to use his powers to stop a common crook. That same crook later that same night broke into Peters house and killed his Uncle Ben. Peter learned a lesson that his uncle repeated many times: "With great power comes great responsibility", and so Peter took to the streets as a costumed super-hero.

WHY HE MAKE THE LIST?: Spiderman and the X-men encountered eachother early in thier carrers (X-Men VOL 1 #35 to be exact...). Despite a brief scirmish (they thought he was an evil robot), they all made nice and became friends. Spiderman has been an aly of thiers ever since. He's also battled Juggernaut a few times, and has teamed up with various X-Men over the years. He's even been in a few issues of Uncanny X-Men recently (around the time of Operation: Zero Tolerance). So there.

TRISH TILBY

Hey Trish, word to the wise, don't become a fashon reporter WHAT'S HER DEAL? Trish Tilby has been an ally of the X-Men for a while. She's been a reporter, then an anchorman for several newstations. She's also been the source of much joy and pain in the Beast's life, making her a great supporting character.

WHY'D SHE MAKE THE LIST? Well, She's the Beast's occasional woman (as of right now, thier realationship is on hiatus), and dispite the fact that she let the world know about the Legacy Virus (plus the fact that it appears to have spread to humans, as in Dr.MacTaggart), she's proved herself in combat, helping the X-Men out durring the Shi'ar/Phalanx conflict (appearing as she did on the left).
