I was re-reading some old issues of Excalibur, and I kept coming back to the scene where Rachel finally found some resolution with her past before taking Captain Britian's place in the timestream. This scene hit me because of situations I had to deal with recently in my own life and the parrallels were frightenly close. This is a rather personal purge of my soul so I hope I will get some feedback on it. Standard diclaimers apply.
Resurection by Fire by Riana
Today I cried bitter tears that burned on my pallid flesh too long parched of any touch and the chafing rage within me broke loose consuming my spirit in a firestorm reflecting back on the mirrors of my soul out to my perfect composed self; never flinching too finely molded for that but still the tears came, charring my flesh and soul in a welcome blaze for out of ash the phoenix arises and may finally....... be able to sing. |
