THE AJACS II Attack Helicopter (Heavy Armor Version 1)
Veritech Space Assault Helicopter
When the REF Fleet left to face the Robotech Masters, they took with them a few squadrons of both current Southern Cross mecha, like the Logan and the VHT, and prototypes of upcoming mecha like the AJACS. When his AJACS was almost shot down during the initial battle with the Invid, Lt. Antony Loyal had his AJACS modified for fighting the Invid. The first thing he had done to his AJACS was to have the armor boosted to a higher rating level. To combat the Invid's horde tactics, he also had the weapons loadout of the AJACS changed. In exchange for some of the onboard laser systems, he had a GU-XX gunpod and two additional missile racks mounted. In exchange for the additional armor and weaponry, his modified AJACS gave up nearly a third of its overall speed; a trade-off he felt was more than worth it. Before he and the rest of the 1st Mixed Assault Group disappeared during a search mission, Lt. Loyal saw his version of the AJACS become the standard REF model.
AJACS II
Model Type: Veritech Helicopter (Heavy Armor Version 1)
Crew: One pilot, but can have an additional co-pilot\navigator.
M.D.C. by Location:
100 * Sensor Head
50 Hands (2)
120 Missile Racks (4)
150 Wings (2)
50 ** Rotor Blades (4)
100 ** Sword Blades (2)
80 Rotor
150 Tail Section
50 Tail Fins (2)
100 Arm Pulse Laser (2)
150 Arms (2)
250 Legs (2)
300 *** Main Body
200 Reinforced Pilot's Compartment
75 GU-XX Gun Pod
*Depleting the M.D.C. of the sensor head will knockout long-range communications (reduce to 60 miles/96km range), long-range radar (reduce to one mile) and laser targeting (-1 to strike).
**In battloid mode, the four rotor blades fold into two swords that may be used to both parry attacks, and to initiate attacks. Depleting the Rotor Blades of M.D.C. will make helicopter flight IMPOSSIBLE, only jet flight will be possible.
***Depleting the M.D.C. of the main body will completely shut the Mecha down.

Jet Mode: Mach 1.5 in atmosphere. Mach 3 in space.
Battloid Mode, Flying: Hover stationary to about 300 mph.
Battloid Mode, Running: 60mph
Battloid Mode, Leaping: 50 ft without booster assistance.
Height: 35ft in Battloid mode and 20ft in chopper mode.
Width: 16ft in Battloid mode and 30ft in chopper mode.
Length: 32ft in chopper mode.

WEAPONS SYSTEMS
1. Wing-Mounted Missile Racks (4): Mounted on each wing are two missile racks. Each rack can carry either 8 short-range missiles, 4 medium-range missiles, or 2 long-range missiles.
Primary Purpose: Assault
Missile Type: REF standard short, medium, or long-range missiles
Mega-Damage: By Missile Type
Rate of Fire: One at a time or in volleys of two, four, six, or eight.
Payload: 32 short-range, 16 medium-range, or 8 long-range missiles.
2. GU-XX, 35mm Tri-Barrel Gun Pod: Centerline mounted when in chopper or jet mode, the GU-XX is hand carried in battloid mode. The GU-XX provides superior burst mode firepower in exchange for some of its onboard laser systems.
Primary Purpose: Assault
Range: 4000ft
Mega-Damage: Does 4D6 MD short burst, 1D4*10 medium burst, 2D4*10 MD full melee burst.
Rate of Fire: Short and medium bursts count as one attack. Full melee burst takes the place of all other attacks.
Payload: 40 short bursts, 20 medium bursts, or 10 full melee bursts
Note: One ammo clip is stored in each leg.
3. Arm Pulse Lasers (2): These are the only remaining standard weapons left onboard the AJACS helicopter. They can be fired in all modes either in single shot mode, or in dual simultaneous blasts.
Primary Purpose: Assault/Defense
Range: 8000ft
Mega-Damage: 1D4*10 MD Blast or 2D4*10 MD Dual Blast
Rate of Fire: Single shot per arm, or simultaneous dual blast. A single shot or a dual burst count as a single attack.
4. Sword Blades: The four rotor blades fold into two super tough sword blades. They can be used both to attack other mecha in close range combat, and to defend against ranged attacks. With a successful parry roll, a pilot can deflect laser, energy, and shell bursts away from the mecha; the blades take 1/4 damage if used in such a manner. They cannot be used to deflect missiles.
Primary Purpose: Attack/Defense
Mega-Damage: 5D6 MD
5. Hand to Hand Combat: Body Block 2D4 MD, Stomp 1D4 MD, Kick 1D6 MD, Restrained Punch 1D4 MD, Power Punch 3D4 MD, Full Punch 2D4 MD, and Flip 1D4 MD.
Special Note: There is also a second model of the AJACS II in the prototype stage of development. The HAV-2 replaces the GU-XX gunpod for four more missile racks mounted on the centerline. This brings the total number of missiles up to 64 short-range, 32 medium range, or 16 long-range missiles. The only non-missile weapons this model mounts are the sword blades and the arm pulse lasers. There are only 4 examples of the Heavy Armor Version 2 in existence at this time.
