Eclipse is older than the hills on Cybertron, but won’t ever let anyone know that. She is highly intelligent and has a great sense of humor. Her only weakness is that she tends to follow her heart too much, and it can impede her ability to make the best possible choices. Optimus Prime remembers her from the times she was a leader of the Autobots before she defected totally and ruled over the Decepticons, and realizes she could very well switch sides again if she so decided. He considers her too valuable a part of the Autobot team to let the femme go neutral as she desires. Her transform modes are a large white horse and a streamlined, alien jet that can fade into the sky and avoid detection. In equine mode, Eclipse is almost wild, and without her higher brain functions, but she also carries great destructive power with her diamond -sharp hooves and sharp teeth.

Eclipse carries a fusion cannon, concussion rifle, and a large, ornately crafted sword of unknown origin. Knowing how old she is, she may have a larger arsenal at her fingertips stored in subspace, but since she rarely speaks about herself, no one really knows her full story. Her tough yet sensitive body armor protects her from most attacks, but Eclipse’s weak spot is inside. If another telepath can distract her long enough, he or she can disable her for days with a mental attack. This rarely happens because the only other known mech whose abilities match hers is Soundwave, and during battle, the two remain far apart for no apparent reason. Eclipse hates fighting against her former comrades, but does because she disagrees with Megatron’s ideas of “Peace through Tyranny.”
