This here is Blu Flyer's Guide to Role-Playing in the AliRPG. Hope it makes sense. Really, the best way to learn is to play ^.^

Want to join the role-playing? It's actually quite easy! You've all wanted to join, and those three steps just weren't good enough. Hi, I'm Blu Flyer! You may remember me from such instructional emails as "When your ISP blows up, go to this URL..." and "PRPG: Why you need a character in the first place." My job here is to get all you lurkers out of hiding. I know at least some of you do want to join in, but are unsure of how to do so. *chuckle* Well here's your chance! With this instructional and faintly humorous email, you'll soon be on your way to posting regularly (at which point we'll have to sedate you. Doctors and quickly trained men off the street are standing by with elephant tranquilizers). Please note that all characters mentioned in this email are fictional, and any resemblance to persons, real or imaginary, is purely coincidental. And if you think that they aren't, well, then my friend, you need a doctor. *beaming smile* The AliRPG operates on connected emails called SLs (storylines) or Threads. A Thread is basically a bunch of emails that all connect to eachother in a continuing story. The best way, IMO, to join a thread, is this: You have a character, right? Well, simply introduce your character! Place your character, put them somewhere where you are comfortable. If you feel like you really know what you are doing in the Aliroo Council, go ahead and place your character as a paper-worker, or a custodian, a librarian, a security guard, anything like that. Have them run into another one of the main characters. This brings me to: MERGING. Merging is when one or more people post simultaneously post for the same characters or Threads, thus placing the same character(s) in different places at the same time. Before you, say, bump your character into Blu Flyer, first figure out where Blu Flyer is. If she's currently walking around AHQ, that's cool! But if she's currently in the middle of an Arwing dogfight near Fortuna, it might be hard to bump into her =P Unless of course, your character is an Arwing pilot =) So once you have your character in with someone who is already in a steady plot, we can draaaaag ya into it and getchya started! DON'T BE AFRAID TO JUMP IN! =D It's the best way to learn! Just take care not to merge; before you jump in try and figure out what is going on in the SL you are planning on jumping into! If you want to make sure you're not going to be merging, simply ask! We will be happy to explain! If you're not quite sure how to go about posting, first check out the 3-post-Example SL. Use the story-format. If you're not sure how to play out the other people's characters, just write a paragraph or two explaining what your character is doing, and something they perhaps say to another character, and let the member play their character out ^.^ Don't be afraid to jump in! The worst thing you can do is merge, and that is easily solved! =) ANY questions can be directed to me, or the list =)
