Any Imperial installation can be found swarming with regiments of stormtroopers. Masses of these highly trained elite ground combat soldiers provide a sure defense against rebel spies and ground assaults.	Stormtroopers are trained for alertness. They provide an intimidating, watchful presence both on the ground and guarding the halls of warships and space stations.	The Royal Imperial guards are the elite of the elite. They served as the ominous personal bodyguards of the Emperor Palpatine. Quick in reflex, deadly in combat, and unshakable in loyalty, the royal guards were unsurpassed.	After the Emperor died, the royal guards were no longer needed: they did not have a true leader to serve. Unfortunately, some served petty Imperial warlords seeking to gain power over the rest of the Empire's remnants. Major Tierce was a former royal guard, and was most recently involved with the resurrected Thrawn scam.
