- Rob and Laura Petrie [pee-tree] move in 7 months after the Klines' disappearance (July 1998). The Klines were the 3rd couple to disappear since the community was founded in 1991.
- Pat Verlander greets the Petries with a gift basket with a ribbon stating "Welcome Neighbors."
- Time Line:
- March 7,1999 (according to Mulder's watch) / Feb. 24, 1999 (according to Scully)
- 5:10pm--The agents arrive. Mulder is wearing a light pink Lacoste polo shirt.
- 5:19pm--Win Shroeder introduces himself. The guy who gives the time, Gordy, carries a box labeled "study."
- circa 5:21pm--Mike Raskub breaks the box labeled "china," which is really the storage for fluorescent bloodstain enhancement equipment.
- 5:59:49pm--The neighbors finish helping the Petries unload.
- 6:01pm--Scully starts to record with her Sony Camcorder:
- 78 minutes available.
- 0:01:16--First glance at camcorder screen. Subject: Mulder
- 0:01:38--Subject: Study?
- 0:01:57--Subject: Living room?
- 0:02:16--Subject: Kitchen
- circa 6:03-4--Big Mike visits the Petries with a box of china. Scully notes that he is wearing a caduceus necklace, to which Mike explains his profession: veterinarian
- 7:49pm--[Gene] Gogolak residence; the residents pow-wow on the Petries.
- circa 7:51pm--Gogolak sends Gordy after Mike's light bulb.
- late night--Mike is watching a documentary on tribal rules and rituals on betrayal, etc. He notices his light bulb is shot, and rushes out to fix it. He is attacked, and blood/gook splatters over his doormat: "Welcome to Mike's Place"
- March 8,1999 or Feb. 25, 1999
- Morning--Rob and Laura drop by Mike's place with the china; Win Shroeder is cleaning up the place with a water hose, and invites the couple to dinner at 6:00pm.
- Afternoon--Rob and Laura drop by Gogolak's residence to talk about the basketball hoop. Mulder suggests his decor is Occidental, which Gogolak corrects him as Nepalese and Tibetan. Gogolak owns Pier 9 Imports (base in Malaysia), which produces little gimmicky things such as the Klines' lawn ornament, theWhirligig.
- 6:37pm--We observe Rob, Laura, Win, and Cami having dinner. The Shroeders use dolphin-safe tuna all the way.
- late night--Laura and Cami take a walk with the Shroeder's little white yappy/chihauhau, Scruffy, on a blue leash.
- even later that night...--Why Mulder would be a bad "real" husband:
- He carelessly throws his clothes around.
- He does not know how to squeeze toothpaste correctly.
- He leaves the toilet seat up.
- We find out that Big Mike drove a 1997 Mercury Villager.
- March 9,1999 or Feb. 26, 1999
- 10:10:21am--Mulder observes the orange-juice-covered, slanted mailbox, while chugging down a Tropicana Pure Premium.
- 4:54:04pm--Mulder feels the need to pay the restroom a visit. When he returns, the mailbox is fixed and contains the following letter: "Be like the others...before it gets dark"
- 10:37pm--The Shroeders panic as Mulder is playing basketball in front of his own residence. Mulder offers Shroeder a game of horse.
- later--Scully returns from San Diego in her green Plymouth minivan (California plate: 2SAQ321)
- and even later--Scully reveals the contents of the stuff found on the fan blade (the blood is mostly ketchup and brake fluid, the hair are bristles from scrub brush) and the dog's muzzle (coffee grounds, egg shells, motor oil, 50 other constituents, mercurochrome for color), and explains the grass as a result of methane gas venting as the residence is built upon an old landfill.
- March 10,1999 or Feb. 27, 1999
- Morning--Mulder digs up the front lawn for excavation. His excuse: reflecting pool (in response to Pat's "swimming pool"). The digger: FORD 655D
- Night--Scully dials 555-27-- for help.
- Tulpa: Tibetan thought-form--a living, breathing creature willed into existence by someone who possesses that ability
- The monster: called "ubermenscher" by Big Mike
- The agents move with the help of Benson movers.
- The Falls at Arcadia make it into the top-planned communities in California for the 6th consecutive year.
