Although it may not be readily apparent, this is a combat card denial deck.
If you can get Stressful Events, Mace and Touch of Death going at the same
time, then your opponent starts combat with only two cards. Pounce would
allow you to start with six. The combat deck features several difficult to
block cards: Stings Don't It; Backhand; and Toe Stomp. Knock 'em Down and
Follow Through (for all purposes the same card) are bolstered by Superior
Position and the Stalling for Time + whatever, combo. With an average hand
cost of 5.15 (36 total cost/20 cards X 5) all your Garou can handle the
load if Crinos.
I, personally, think that having to discard to activate Kailindo is a
crock. Also,Fight With the Wind is one of the few combat event cards that
doesn't replace itself, in other words, you have to start with one less
combat card to use it. Never-the-less this deck provides you with the
option of looking at your combat hand and declining Kailindo if you can
make a go of it otherwise. Be circumspect about getting "The" Dean in
combat until all three of the Pounce cards are used up.
This deck is, as yet, untested. My only concern is whether the combat deck
is strong enough to get the KO. One possibility is to drop the Follow
Throughs for Uncontrollable Fury. Again, I have to say that Kailindo is
made too difficult: Oh, well.... | |
