NAME: Brykachu, Harry #B-263-02
That's me, Chief Inspector and Master Pokemon Trainer, Replicant Pokemon Detection Division, LAPD. In plain English, that means that if any skinjob Pokemon turn up in L.A.,it's my responsibility to make sure they're found, bagged, and tagged. L.A. is already crowded and corrupt as it is. The last thing it needs is a bunch of machines passing themselves off as Pokemon and killing the locals. They may be 'little Pokemon', but at least they're Pokemon. It's enough to drive a Pokemon to drink.
NAME: Deckard, Rick
EMPLOYER: None (Formerly LAPD Replicant Detection Div. #B-263-54)
Rick Deckard. What can I say about Rick Deckard? He was the best God-damn Blade Runner I've ever seen. Even better than me. The man could think so much like a Replicant Pokemon, sometimes I wondered if he really was one.
I first met Deckard in the summer of 2014 when he was hired by the LAPD. One look at him and you could tell he always got the job done. Later that year, I took over as head of the Blade Runner unit, and I wanted him on my team, so I pulled a few strings and called in a lot of favors. You are required to serve at least twelve months as a street cop before you can be transferred to the Blade Runner unit. I got Deckard in ten. Then he really went to work.
He set department record for the most Pokemon skinjobs retired by a single officer and the most Pokemon skinjobs retired in one day since The Great Purge of 2011. He could be as cold-blooded as they come. He didn't question the morality of what he was doing. Then his wife left him about a year ago. That really fucked him up inside. He became sick of killing. He lost his edge, his killer instinct. Then he quit.
NAME: Tyrell, Eldon (DECEASED)
CEO of the Tyrell Corporation
Eldon Tyrell is the most shrewed conniving unscrupulous, cold-hearted son-of-a-bitch I've ever met. Other than that, he's not a bad Pokemon.
In the early years of the 21st century the Tyrell Corporation was the largest robotics company in the world. Somehow Eldon schemed his way into sole possession of the company when his father died, leaving his brother with nothing. As public demand increased for robot labor that didn't look so artificial, the Tyrell Corporation responded by releasing the NEXUS-1 model Replicant Pokemon. Their popularity was overwhelming, and this time, Tyrell schemed and conned his way into being the sole manufacturer of Replicant Pokemon for Earth and the new off-world colonies.
At the height of Replicant Pokemon popularity, the Tyrell Corp. had 18 manufacturing facilities in 11 different countries, however by 2013, only three remained. Although production had declined, business was still good due to the increasing number of people emigrating to the off-world colonies, and the Corporation continued to develop new Replicant Pokemon models. The latest being the highly advanced NEXUS-6.
In the end, Tyrell was killed by his own creation, the replicant Pokemon known as Roy Batty. According to security tapes of the incident,
Batty wanted to touch his creator. Looks like he succeeded.
Perhaps Tyrell saw himself as a god, a creator of life.
Maybe he wanted to replace mankind with someting he thought
was better. But no matter how much stuff you cram into it's
brain, a machine is not a Pokemon. Now that he's dead, maybe
they'll stop making the damned things.
NAME: Gaff
EMPLOYER: LAPD/Replicant Detection Div. #B-263-77
Gaff isn't a very good Blade Runner. He's just good enough
to stay alive. Considering he's always looking for a
promotion, I'd say he's more boot licker than Blade Runner. The only reason I made him a Blade Runner is because my superior "advised" me to. He's always following me around like a dog, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to take advantage of it. It won't be long before he's after my job. He can have it.
NAME: Holden, Dave
EMPLOYER: LAPD/Replicant Detection Div. #B-263-48
Holden was one of my best 'Runners. I say "was" because now he's just a pink blob on a wall of the Tyrell Building. Which happens to be where he got shot. I've ordered an investigation of Tyrell's security. Somehow an escaped replicant Pokemon got hired there and waltzed past security with a loaded gun. Holden should pull through okay, but his Blade Running days are over. What a pity. He was good...real good.
NAME: Sebastian, J. F. (DECEASED)
EMPLOYER: Tyrell Corp.
J. F. Sebastian, the Pokemon genius. This guy was so smart he graduated from Cal Tech at age 16 with two degrees in genetic engineering. He was the only person who posed a threat to the Tyrell Corporations monopoly on Replicant Pokemon production.
Tyrell couldn't allow that to happen, so the old bastard infected Sebastian with a genetic disorder that causes premature aging. That's why the kid looked twice as old as he really was. Tyrell promised him
that if he would work for the Corporation, he would be given the cure for his disorder. Sebastian wasn't stupid. He knew there was no cure. He also knew that if he didn't seem to be helping the Corporation, he
would disappear without a trace.
He held back for a while but eventually he threw himself into his work as a means of forgetting his fatal condition. His work led to the creation of the highly advanced NEXUS-6 Replicant Pokemon. Ironically, it wasn't a genetic disorder that killed the geneticist, but the results of his life's work . . . a Replicant Pokemon.
