AN: Well this might get a little confusing from on and further in the chapters but I hope it won't be that bad, anyway if you have any questions or comments they are all welcome.




The Dark War

As Heero walked along, following his father, the ground beneath his feet changed from the cracked paved roads to the soft cushioning of dead leaves and twigs, where the rubble of destroyed houses once surrounded him now were large coniferous trees. They had been walking in silence following a small path when they eventually made it to a clearing and to a large mansion. Men and women of all ages and origins were gathered around the house some stood by watching as others seemed to be in a passionate embrace with their lover, but he knew better, he could sense what they were... vampires. It had been years since he had last been around them, 'his people' as his father called them, but they recognized him immediately and cleared a path for their prince as he made his way to the cryptic old mansion. Once inside, and away from prying eyes he finally took a good look at the man who was his father, he had the same unruly chestnut hair and prussian eyes as Heero and stood at about the same height. It was like looking at an older version of himself, except for one difference, his father had a scar that started near his right earlobe down to his adams apple, it seemed even a vampires natural healing gifts were unable to get rid of the mark. His clothes however, unlike Heero's usual green tank top and black spandex shorts, were very distinguished. He wore a black silk suit that reflected the soft light of the lit candles in the room and he had a long leather trench coat that molded to his body perfectly. Heero's father broke the uncomfortable silence,

"You know it will be soon, don't you Heero, and there is nothing you can do to stop this."

"It changes nothing, even if you do go through with it your kingdom will fall Mikirou"

Mikirou sighed with fatigue "My poor Heero you have been fighting this since the day you were born and still, when you know that there is nothing you can do to stop this you insist on fighting against me, your own father." Heero was about to reply when Mikirou raised his hand calling for silence "the ritual will go as planned, meanwhile we need to get some sleep I've exhausted my strength these past few days and I know that your search for me has exhausted you as well."

With a nod of his head Heero complied and headed for his room, the one he used to sleep in when he was only a child and his mother still lived.

"Soon son, soon the fight will end. With her joining our kingdom you won't have a reason to fight anymore, and with her by your side this kingdom will flourish." Mikirou whispered before melting away within the shadows.

"Relena, may I come in?" Sally asked as she put her hand on the door knob and turned it, hoping to receive a response from the rooms occupant, but all she got was silence. She opened the door slowly, with Hilde close behind, but the only sight before her was an empty room. Relena was no longer sitting by her window looking out at the falling snow.

"Relena!" Hilde called out, no answer.

"You mean to tell me that Relena's in love with a fucking vampire?"

The ex-gundam pilots turned in surprise at hearing a new voice in the room. Standing in the doorway was Zechs Marquise (Miliardo Peacecraft), with his wife Lucrezia Noin Marquise "where is that asshole, I swear when I get my hands on him I'm going to drive a god damn stake through his heart."

"Zechs calm down, your just annoyed that you didn't figure it out on your own. We both know Heero would have done it by now if he intended to."

"Hey, wait a minute, why should he have noticed that Heero was a vampire and what are you talking about, done what?" Duo asked raising an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Well..." Lucrezia started but was interrupted when Sally and Hilde ran into the room.

"She's gone!" Hilde said out of breath.

"What are you talking about, who's gone?" Wufei asked, slightly annoyed at the constant interruptions.

"Relena, she's not in her room anymore. It's like she just vanished without a trace. Her windows are still locked from the inside and everything and there's no way she could have gone out without passing by me and Hilde."

"Shit" Duo cursed "We better go find her then." he said as he rose from his seat and headed for the door but was stopped half way when Zechs stepped in his way.

"There's no point, if she doesn't want to be found she won't be, besides I think that we are all overdue for a talk. It's time we lay all of the cards on the table."

"What are you talking about?" both Hilde and Sally asked in unison, slightly puzzled as to when the man had arrived, somewhat apprehensive about what he was hinting at yet showing no outwards sing of it. The pilots however were simply shifting nervously in place.

Zechs smirked, both women seemed so innocent, they probably had no idea what was going on in the world around them. "Not all horror movies are completely fictional. Vampires, witches, werewolves and other 'creatures of the night' and beings with magical powers actually exist and in this room we have at least 4 such beings or creatures." He stated calmly.

"Oh come on! Do you really expect us to believe that crap?" Duo said, slightly chuckling.

"Actually..." Hilde replied as a small blush rose to her cheeks"he's right. I don't know how you found out Zechs and I don't know who the other 2 in this room are but um..... well... Sally and I are witches." She shied away from the group slightly after she had said it.

Everyone in the room was stunned into silence for a few moments until, "Onna, do you have any idea what you got yourself into. Casting spells isn't child's play it can be very dangerous. What if one goes wrong what would you do? You shouldn't be playing with something you know nothing about." Wufei burst out, narrowing his eyes at Sally.

"Wufei" Sally said, irritated "I can take care of myself, besides who do you think you are to talk to me about how to do spells."

"I happen to be the most respected and experienced Wizard in my clan." Wufei boasted proudly and somewhat arrogantly.

"Well I guess that makes it 3 down and 1 to go" Hilde stated, Sally and Wufei's usuall banter had helped her get over her initial embarassement.

"Actually" Quatre said as he got up from his chair "I've got empathic abilities, I can take on other peoples injury's but I can also sense other peoples emotions and I have reason to believe that everyone in this room leads somewhat of a double life." he stated shyly.

"Well, then I guess I should tell you guys...well there's a reason why I'm the God of Death." Duo said as he scratched the his head and laughed "The things is I'm somewhat of a necromancer, any and everything that is dead or was once dead I can kinda control. But I'm still sorta new at it." Duo admitted before turning to the last of the 4 pilots assembled "What about you Trowa, what's your secret identity?" he said sarcastically.

"I can turn into different animals" Trowa replied, his face never changing expressions. Quatre turned to him and smiled. While the others looked at him with shocked expressions.

"Well then that just leaves one more thing. How did you know Zechs?" Hilde asked as she turned to face him along with everyone elseassembled.

"Lucrezia and I, we're hunters. We track down the evil creatures of the night or magical beings and destroy them so we usually have the ability to sense anything that isn't completely human or has special abilities. Now that that's over with there's the matter of Relena to discuss..."

"And I still didn't get to tell you about the whole deal with Heero and why he's gonna need our help."

"Then I suggest you go first Duo, I doubt my sister-in-law is in any immediate danger and I'm rather curious about this whole affair, but unless your in a rush to get everything out in the open then we should all go upstairs and have a good night's sleep before diving into this problem."

Everyone nodded their head in agreement and started to file out of the .

Heero looked around the old hallways that he had ran through in his youth. The lower half of the wall had the appearance of varnished wood and was divided into square 'frames' and the upper half was covered in a yellow/cream colored wall paper. The paintings that hung on the walls were old and worn, they hadn't been cared for and some even had holes in them, the rotting floor creaked with every step he took and the only light making it's way through the dark shadows surrounding him was the pale flicker of the small, white, wax candles that were perched here and there on the walls.

When he finally made it to his destination he just stood in front of the door to his room, his hand laying on the doorknob, debating if he had made the right decision in coming here and if he should stay in this house ‘It's too late to think about that now' he thought to himself before pushing the door open and stepping inside, making sure to lock the door behind him.

The walls were just like the ones of the hallway but were bare of everything except for the small unlit white candles, there were no windows in the room, to the right was a king size 4 poster bed ,with freshly washed blankets, and a small night table on either side of the bed, on the left, in each corner stood large green velvet arm chairs and in the middle, on the wall, was a large fireplace with a roaring fire blazing inside of it.

Heero froze when he looked over at the fire place, in front of it stood a slim figure with dark ebony hair flowing down to her lower back and she was wearing a sleeveless flowing black dress. The fires light bounced off of her hair giving a slightly red tint to it wherever the light touched. He could see the pale almost white skin of her arms on each side of her body and could sense that she was a vampire.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" He asked, narrowing his prussian eyes at the figure before him.

The young lady didn't move but stayed there with her back facing him as she answered his question.

"Welcome Heero, I have been waiting so long for you. Your father has accepted me into your family"

Heero's eyes widened in shock when he heard the familiar voice 'No, it can't be. She's safe, miles away from here, there's no way it can be her' he thought.

"Oh, but Heero, it can and it is" she said as she turned around to face him. Clear blue eyes meeting prussian blue.

His next word came out in a whisper of disbelief sounding more like a statement than a question.

"R-Relena..?"




AN: Finally done part 4. That's a lot of information in one chapter but I'm going to go a little more into detail about everyone's powers later, anyway I'm sorry it took so long but I hope you enjoyed it, there should be at least 4 more chapters to this so stay tuned. I'm currently working on 2 other fics that aren't posted and an original story so don't expect an update for a while. Thanks for reading and please R&R. 1
