It's twenty years in the future, Batman is retired, A gang calling themselves the Mutants run the city. After Bruce Wayne is attacked on the street he once again decides to don the Batman identity again. He starts a full scale one man war on the mutants. Jim Gordon is scheduled for retirement and the Mutants have targeted him for assasination. The mayor picks a new police commish named Ellen Yindel. Batman goes to the dump in the new Batmobile (more like Battank) and kicks the crap out of most of the mutants. The leader challanges Batman and kicks the living crap out of him. A young girl named Carrie Kelly, has dressed up in a Robin costume and thinks she is going to give Batman a hand. After Bats gets his ass kick, Carrie comes in and saves his ass, The leader of the mutants get arrested by the police. When Bats and Robin return to the Batcave, Batman accepts her as the new Robin.
In the shadow of a full scale war with Russia, the U.S.A. has an extremely powerful weapon, Superman. Batman gets Gordon's help with a plan to capture the mutants. Batman frees the Leader of the mutants, and leads him to the dump, where he kicks the hell out of him in front of all the mutants.
A new vigilante group arises in Gotham called the sons of the Batman, these guys make the Punisher look like Koffi from the power pack. They even went so far as to cut off a store owner's fingers for not defending himself properly. When the new Commish in charge now the first thing she does is issue a warrant for the Batman. At this time the Joker is being released from Arkym because his doctors say he is cured of his sickness. When the Joker goes on the "David Endochrine" show he kills everyone. The Batman hunts him down to the fair grounds where a fight insues. After being stabbed a few times Batman kills the Joker by breaking his spine. The Russians launch a missile called the Coldbringer. Superman stops it and detonates it in the desert. The EMP (electro magnetic pulse) shuts down the power all over the U.S.A. Which also blocks out the source of Supermans powers, the Sun. Batman gathers all the sons of the Batman and some of the mutant refuggees to help with the riots. Superman is sent after Batman, and finds Batman covered in armor. After fighting for a few seconds, Batman starts to get his ass kicked when Olliver Queen (now one handed) fires a Kryptonite arrow at Supes. Now Batman starts to kick his ass, but just as Batman is about to finish him, he dies of a heart attack. At the funeral Supes hears Batman's heart beating under ground and winks at Carrie Kelly, Batman faked his own death. A the end we see Batman, Robin, some of the son's of the Batman and some of the refuggee mutants in the bottom of the Batcave.
