Kela

Holy Symbol of Kela Her color is blood red and her symbols are an intricately carved oath ring and a shield containing an arrow and a balanced scale. Her sacred animal is the unicorn.

Kela, the huntress, is the goddess of protection, retribution, battle and war. Long associated with the ruling famliy of the Isles, Kela is one of the most popular deities on the island nation. When seen she is usually in her human paladin form accompanied by her son, Desorn, the first unicorn. In human form she is breathtakingly beautiful, with long golden hair and eyes of a deep ocean green.

The dwarves of the western mountains call her Skadhi and in recent years she has gained a significant following. She is known to them as The Oathmaker, and it is by her that all bargains are made. She is their goddess of honor, battle and justice.

Frost Elves and The Almec of New Aruk refer to Kela as the Great Beast. This beast is too beautiful, or horrifying, for any mere mortal to look upon and survive. She is honored as one of the highest goddesses, the goddess of the hunt, and she plays an important role in their society.

Kela's priests and paladins have the following benefits and/or restrictions:

Kela and her followers have the ability to turn undead. Her favored followers are sometimes granted special abilities which may include: Kela's Rage, Righteous Fury, Detect Lie, Make Oath, Bond and Transformation.

Priests and paladins of Kela are all granted one special ability, they are allowed to go against the law if the letter of the law has wronged the spirit of the law, an innocent person is imprisoned or a guilty person is set free. Agents of Kela must be very sure that they are right, for Kela knows all circumstances. She will not impose any penalties on those who are correct, however, she imposes three times the normal penalty if the agent was wrong. Kela has also been known to appear herself in order to instill this penalty and/or to right the wrong done by her servant.
