The Races

Populating the wide expanses of Jordian soil are several races of intelligent beings.

Humans
By far the most numerous of Jorda's sentient inhabitants, humans can be found in most areas of the world: Islanders live on The Royal Isles of Ahvlyn, The Clans dwell in the eastern forests of Eron, Arukians have settled the western shores of New Aruk while the tribal Plainsmen roam the Wide Plains of central New Aruk, Shirans make up the majority of The Empire of Had-Shir, and The Swan Islands are home to a people known as the Frith.

Elves
Nearly as widespread as humans, most Elves originated on the island-continent of Oberon. Today, however, they can be found around the world: Island Elves in Ahvlyn, Arukian Elves within the fringes of New Aruk, Frost Elves dwell in the arctic Fremun Forest just north of the Arukian Confederacy, Eronian Elves wage a constant battle for survival in the interior of Eron, and a small number of elves have found residence in The Swan Islands. Legends say that the latter elves are actually members of an aquatic race, the Sea Elves, that have either left, or been forced to leave their watery home.

Half-Elves
Inevitably found where ever humans and elves can be found together, half-elves can be found as well. Half-elves tend to imitate the society of either their human or elven parent, depending, in part, on which parent the child lives with or which society the couple has decided to live in.

Dwarves
Preferring the rugged mountains, these stout, often dour, individuals can be found in the far southwest of New Aruk and scattered through the rough hills of The Swan Islands. Additionally, descendants of a once proud nation of dwarves still roam the western mountains of Eron, fighting their blood-sworn battle against the Flame.

Gnomes
Many different varieties of Gnome can be found through the world: Forest Gnomes live in the dense forests of Ahvlyn, while a hardier variety can be found in the mountainous regions of New Aruk. Another, small group of Gnomes lives in The Empire of Had Shir, enslaved to the human population there.

Sea Wolves
Lurking the waters that surround The Swan Islands, these bloodthirsty pirates show no mercy to thier victims.

Winged Folk
Found only in the rare mountain heights of The Royal Isles of Ahvlyn, these majestic looking creatures have a small, but very civilized society.

Graith
Creatures of the deserts and wastelands of New Aruk, these hulking, venomous monsters often prey on other races.

Firbolgs
Thier clanish lifestyle is well suited for these gentle giants of the Eronian forests.

Centaurs
The largest of the races enslaved by The Empire of Had Shir, these creatures also cause the most trouble to the Shirans with almost constant rebellions.

Harpies
Fiercely protective of their high mountain aeries, the harpies of New Aruk make every effort to keep thier neighbors (Dwarves, Gnomes, Graith, and Humans) out of thier mountains.

Goblins
The main workforce of slaves for The Empire of Had-Shir, the large Goblin population is easliy intimidated by the fierce Shiran taskmasters. Free Goblins also thrive in the wilderness of Eron and to some degree in The Swan Islands.

Lizard Men
Originating in the marshy swamps of The Swan Islands, Lizard Men have spread to the fringes of The Empire of Had-Shir.
