What is "Natural Magick?"
Before we delve into this, let’s look at the difference between Magic—("C") and Magick—("K").
Magic, with a "C", is an illusionary practice an exercise revolving around the sleight of hand, premeditated deception, and flair with the use of concealed equipment for the sole purpose of producing baffling effects for entertainment. Your abilities and success at this is totally dependent upon how much practice you do, and how much you are able to afford for props, equipment and the like (a good agent will come in handy).
MAGICK, with a "K", is – and has always been in every civilization on Earth – a "practical", highly spiritual system for self-development, spiritual growth, healing, protection, and material advancement. Your abilities and success at this are only limited by your intent and imagination – and a little studying and practice. Your "props" and "equipment" are provided by Nature (i.e., a winding stream bed, a blade of grass, the trees, the shore of a lake or ocean, an occasional storm, etc.)
In its alter ego as the "Mysteries", it is the highly benevolent, ethical, moral, spiritual and metaphysical systems that are the basis for ALL of the major religions on Earth. And putting aside all of the trappings of rituals – which, by the way are s-o-l-e-l-y for the purpose of keeping the mind focused, and not as a means to an end in itself! Magick is also very simple and deceptively easy. Why? Because you are working with energies and "will" to tap into the universe. And like this universe, which is simplistic, it only stands to reason that it operates in the same fashion. It’s only man, in his strivings to be different – while doing the same things – that makes it complicated (but that’s another subject for another time.)
Now with some of the basics aside, what is NATURAL MAGICK? Quite simply put it is the basics underlying every Shamanism practice around the world. It’s the art of self-empowerment, attuning to the surroundings, and the working with the forces of Nature to bring about necessary changes. Be these changes in the emotional, spiritual, or physical is of no concern – so [as in its workings] it brings no harm to none, [thus it must be] – so let it be! (today you say, "so mote it be!" don’t get shook up, it means the same thing as the previous phrase.)
This is not hype. Nor is it a new fangled, "New Age" of enlightenment discovery.
The arts and practices of Natural Magick were an integral part of our births, our beliefs of death and dying, physical/spiritual growth, healing, protection, defense, learning about our perception of this world we are in. It governed all interactions with "Mother Earth"/"Father Sky", traveling the planes of the dimensions and the universe(s) – that is, before it was systematically outlawed by the "industry of religion" almost 2,000 years ago!!
The forces of Nature are manifested around us 24 hours-a-day as the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. They have existed here long before our short history, and can be thought of as our spiritual ancestors. And through your efforts of self-attunement/self-empowerment, practice and sheer force of will, working with these energies you can be lent the power to effect dramatic changes in your life, and in turn open your perspective so that you can sense your place in the overall order and scheme of things in Nature and the Universe, for Nature is the Universe!
The ancients had these forces at their disposal.
Today--you also have at your disposal the forces locked inside of Crystals, Stones and Metals; the Sun, the Moon and Planets; the Earth, the Air, Fire, and Water; Trees, Flowers, Herbs, Rain and Fog.
Some of the "tools" like Candles (and any flame for that matter), Colors and Images; Mirrors and Ropes, are linked with and tap into the powers of nature by their symbolism.
