Zoom In to see Pattern Changes
A standard is a mail collar. It is about equivalent to the "bishop's mantels" you see everywhere. This is a reproduction of one I found in "Arms and Armor of the Medieval Knight An Illustrated History of Weaponry in the Middle Ages" by David Edge & Miles Paddock published by Crescent Books. It's on page 120. When I saw it I decided I had to make one to see how it worked. It laces up the front to achieve a point in both the front and back. I am quite pleased with the effect. And I am happy to offer this authentic pattern to you.
