A Quiet Place
There is a quiet place
Far from the rapid pace
Where God can soothe my troubled mind.
Sheltered by tree and flow'r
There, in my quiet hour
With Him my cares are left behind.Whether a garden small
Or on a mountain tall
New strength and courage there I find.
Then from this quiet place
I go prepared to face
A new day with love for all mankind.

I first heard a vocal arrangement of this song several years ago, and it immediately touched my heart. I think of this song often because it sets such a peaceful mood for me. I hear the melody, and I am taken to this place, my Quiet Place.
I come to my Quiet Place each day to spend some time in meditation. Some call it "prayer" or "meditation," some call it "quiet time," and still others call it "deep thought." Whatever we call it, I think everyone should take time to do it. It helps us find and stay true to our center. It keeps us grounded. It keeps us in the right spirit. Most of all, it keeps us close to God.
Each month, I try to capture some of my thoughts on paper. This is where I keep the pages.
