The Board Room
A Center for Noble Politics
"You're so nice... you're not good, you're not bad you're just nice. I'm not good I'm not nice I'm just right."
~The Witch, Into the Woods
"Good evening, I trust you are all well. I see you wish to learn more about
the beauty and pagentry of the noble court. Very well then, you shall hear what you requested."
Noble court is, to sum it up, magnificent. Wonders of unimaginable glory have been created for us
to hold these sessions in, and the nobility itself who make up the court is every bit as splendid. The content of these meetings is serious, trying to deal with every type of matter.
There are several types of courts that are held, and each is as important as the other.
Open court is for anyone of any Kith to attend.
Closed Court is a tightly controlled Open Court, there petitions are heard, and is the most noble of all the courts.
Privy Council are open to only the hosting Lord and his closest advisiors.
The Reune is highly secritive, often only between two nobles. Often, commeners snicker and call this "pillow talk".
The Parlament of Dreams is made up of not only Sidhe, but many commoners and Common Nobles as well. Only a few in here are openly Unseelie, although everyone is certain that the Shadow Court has spies in the Parlament of Dreams that no one knows about. The Parlament of Dreams is very comparable to the English Parlament. Most seats in the Parlament are held by those of the Traditionalist Impulse, but the Reformers are gaining popularity.
The Nobility is split along the lines of houses. Gwydion hold the most power, but they are generally accepted to be fair rulers, so this is acceptable. Houses Liam and Scathach are virtually without power in the Parlament due to the nature of the house.
Rulership is divided up into increasingly smaller sections that all hold power within each other. The Kingdom obviously is the largest, abd deals with the large scale problems. The Duchy are typically large cities or regions, and deal with the politics of lower ranking nobles. The Counties are small, made up of no more than 5 freeholds. Counties have a reputation for being scandlous and are usually the target for commoner revolts. The Barony is a stable, loyal group. They are generally happy and supported by the people. The Fiefdom (when it exsists) is a small grant to a loyal knight or a baron. It may or may not include a freehold. Finally, the Household is, ironically, the most important part of a Kingdom, even though it is the smallest. It is said that if the houseold is in disarray, the Kingdom is in disarray.
The secret societies in Kithain society are important, influencing many decisions.
I hope you have learned what you have come for, and I bid you good day."
