So you're looking for Doctor Who stuff, right? Well, look no further. I've been a fan of the show for seventeen years now, and I've been collecting Who stuff at least since 1985.
The Doctor is a Time Lord, a race of human-appearing aliens from the planet Gallifrey. Although they look like humans, Gallifreyans have long lifespans, can master control over their body's functions, have two hearts, minor telepathic skills, a 60 degree body temperature, and can physically regenerate at points of death or extreme physical and mental exhaustion. When they regenerate their body goes through a metamorphosis on the cellular level, making the body completely new in appearance. Also, regenerations tend to alter the persona of the Gallifreyan, as we've seen over the years with The Doctor.
The Doctor is considered a renegade by his fellow Time Lords. He longed to help civilizations, to interfer when injustices were done. In violation of Gallifrey's laws, he 'borrowed' a Type 40 TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space machine) and journeyed on his own. Along the way, his adventures included a granddaughter, named Susan. He took her at one point to London in the Twentieth Century, where the TARDIS took the shape, exterior-wise, of a blue, British police box. When the ship would next travel, it would be found that the ship would stay this way from now on.
This page offers links to pages on each Doctor, his villains, and on favorite Companions that I liked.
Many books have come out on Doctor Who. Check out my weekly review of one DW book, whether it be a Missing Adventure or New Adventure, or whether its from the BBC or from Virgin.
With cans of Nitro-9 and a slingshot, Ace became an endeared companion to the Doctor, and to his viewers. She was the last companion of the tv series, and has since popped up in a few Virgin and BBC novels.
No Who page should be without links, and credits to those that deserve them.
