Hi all, Jae here. This page is devoted to my alter ego, J.P. Prime.
I first created JP after my paternal grandfather passed on in November of 1986. A few nights after, I had a strange dream. Dreamt I had to go to a warehouse, where I stumbled upon a machine. I touched it, and changed. I was able to transform into the Autobot Rodimus Prime, then leader of the Autobots. Thus, I called this character Jason Prime.
A few years later, I made Jason to be something else. I was, and still am, a Doctor Who fan. As some know, Time Lords only have 13 lives. But what happens after that? In this case, the Doctor was given a new lifespan, courtesy of the White Guardian. He called himself Jason Prime, and lots of adventures. I made an action figure of him using G.I. Joe parts.
By high school, I started to make JP towards what he is today. At first, he was a plain human adventurer. Then, he started to get powers. I worked and worked on him, and added a middle name to JP, Phineas. Picked Phineas after the lead character in Around The World in 80 Days, Phineas Fogg. Hence, he became J.P. Prime. Its since become Patrick.
Back in 1940s, two men were in the U.S. military forces, fighting Nazis in the Second World War. Both were secretly 'mystery men' the superheroes of the time. One was The Patriot, taking the country's flag as his costume's inspiration, and was a regular man trying to help out. The other was John Prime, The Peacekeeper. Its because of him that JP would have his future career...
John Prime wasn't the only Peacekeeper. In fact, he was the first human one on Earth. Peacekeepers are the intergalatic police force of the Duuraon, white cubic-angled creatures with floating block heads. Some were selected to protect entire space sectors, others to protect individual planets. John Prime had been selected and was slightly augmented, his sense and abilities made a bit above human standards.
Prime and the Patriot were part of Liberty's Freedom, a hero team of the time. They fought the Nazis, helping to keep America safe. After the war, the group stayed together for a few years, then disbanded. Some members continued to be heroes, while some like John Prime and The Patriot, retired and started to have families.
John Prime eventually married a woman who had kids from a previous marriage. The son from that marriage ended up marrying the youngest daughter of the Patriot. They had two sons, the second named Jason.
When Jason was twelve, his paternal grandfather passed away. Around this time, an alien group started their flight to Earth, intent on conquer. This was the Shrike, a group that deviated off the evolution path of the Duuraon. It would take them three years to get to Earth. When they did, they began scanning the planet, picking up humans at random to experiment on them. One scan hit Florida, where a vacationing Jason was at.
The scanning beam took them to the aliens' ship, where he was taken apart, atom by atom. Only thing that was left was his spirit and his consciousness. The rest of him was discarded into the Shrike's dimension, destroyed. But the Duuraon rescued his spirit, and infused it to a protomatter body, making it able to look like his old body. They also dimmed his memories a bit to allow him over time to get used to his new existence. He was then brought back to Florida, unaware really of what happened.
Over the next few days, Jason learned a bit about his existence. He could shapeshift, and fly. Even got some super strength. He put this all to use when a boat he was on at Epcot Center was taken over by theifs. He used his powers to stop them. When he returned home to Massachusetts, he disdcovered an old journal of his grandfather's, back when he was John Prime. Inspired by what he read, Jason became the hero J.P. Prime.
Since then, JP has had many adventures, and learned the whole backstory to what happened to him by the Shrike. He works for the Duuraon, protecting Earth and its area from harm.
The Shrike are an off-shoot of the Duuraon. Instead of wanting to be fatherly protectors, they decided it was better to enslave planets to enforce their rules. It was because of this that Peacekeepers were created. Seen here is Tyrant, one of the clan leaders of the Shrike.
Every hero has to belong to a team, right??? Well, JP has one too. The Associates are made up of other Earthbound Peacekeepers, a few reformed villains, and some freelance heroes.
Side-Step is JP's best friend, both as heroes and as regular people. He possesses super-speed, can use to deliver concussive force 'punches', and can generate an energy net. He eventually moved away from Brockton, and has gone into a state of semi-retirement.
Smokescreen was a Peacekeeper from Earth that was assigned to help educate JP on what his role in life was. She was the third and last member of the original Associates, and briefly was JP's love interest. She's since gone into a semi-retirement phase as well, moving into a career in Boston and a romance with Side-Step.
Centurion is a former enemy, having been re-engineered by the Shrike to help Renegade defeat JP. He believed that the Shrike were the good guys, but learned the truth. he helped stop them, and reformed to be an Assocaiate. He served for six years in the team, until he married and became a father a year after that. He could fly, emit energy bursts, and could reshape metal to other uses, augmenting his abilities or adding other ones to him.
Sideswipe is another of The Shrike's experiments on humans. He was given teleporting powers, using it similar to super-speed. He also can use the gauntlets he wears, made of liquid metal, to reshape it into weapons. He became Side-Step's replacement in the team when he moved away from the team.
Extreme is a Peacekeeper from a galaxy near ours. On his planet, all the beings are composed of living metal and can reshape themselves for whatever is needed. Only a few have this power and a few others, Extreme being one of them. He was sent to Earth around the time JP went to college, and joined The Associates. He is still a member, using the team interaction to study human culture.
Holo is a Earth stage magician, given powers by the Duuraon to do, amongst other things, create three dimensional illusions. He met JP shortly after the hero left college, and when Peacekeepers assembled once on the Duuraon homeworld. He joined the Assocaiates, and helped JP secure a job as a press secretary for Holo's stage act.
Wraparound is a freelance superhero, located in Boston. She helped the Associates on a few occasions, often asked to join. She eventually agreed, and has been a boon. With Smokescreen no longer active in the team, Wraparound is the only female member. She can swuper-stretch her limbs, and create her arms into energy 'lassos' to ensnare criminals.
The Peacekeeper, this JP's paternal grandfather.
This JP's original uniform. It lasted for over a year, until he learned about some of his past, importantly, his role with the Duuraon.
JP was confronted by Renegade, a clone of him given powers by the Shrike. During this adventure, JP discovered the Duuraon, and learned skills from them to defeat his clone and the Shrike. He adopted a new uniform, basing more on what other Peacekeepers wore at that time.
JP started to personalize his uniform a bit, combining aspects of his first two uniforms. This lasted till after he finished high school.
After getting into college, JP changed his look some more. He adopted a crew cut to eliminate extra time between his hair styles. Plus, he added leather to his attire to give it more color.
After a few adventures following the end of college, JP changed his look some more, making his top a t-shirt and his tights into slacks. This has lasted for several years, until he reached thirty.
Now entering 30, JP is in a new costume, harkening back to his old looks. He has even grown out his hair once more, and grown a goatee. This is a more mature JP, and is slowly devoting more time to his alter ego's life. He is now an uncle and working full time. Whether he stays on as JP is unknown, but retirement may come soon.....
Ancient, cosmic beings. They are the ones that created the galactic police force called The Peacekeepers. They were the ones to pick John Prime and help bring J.P. Prime into being.
