When Love Cries Tears

great comic couples hurt by bad writers

Raven and Jericho from DC's Titans. The relationship had just shown signs of developing into something promising when the horrid Titan's Hunt storyline started that destroyed the comic. And I don't even want to go into what they did to the characters personalities, suffice it to say- destroyed.

Guy and Ice. Just when it looked like Guy and Ice just might take that serious step toward full reconcilation they killed Ice. (the break-up was stupid to begin with, Dan Jurgins had to have every single female in the JL acting like drooling idiots over Superman, no matter if they were already in a commited relationship with another character and had brains in their head. Fire's sudden "Valley Girl" dialect and brianless level was just as obnxious and wrong. Fire is from Brazil not California! The Jurgen's period I mockingly called - "Superman, his women and a bunch of other guys")

Rogue and Gambit. The relationship merry-go-round from hell. Marvel again and again ignores the readers breaks the couple up, then gets tons of angry letters, puts them back together for a couple of issues, then proceeds to break them up again. The distain Marvel holds for it's readers is shocking and appalling. The fans have known for years that this is the best comic couple to come down the pike in ages. They generate more fanfiction than any other comic couple. The fans know the two belong together. But time after time Marvel trashes the couple and the relationship. Marvel has driven away many thousands of readers by their contemptable behavior.
