The Flying Citadels of the Fainal... by Chasmyr |
hese spherical vessels are usually 100' in diameter. They were designed by the fainal to float eternally over the earth, declaring their air power for all to dread. |
Various means have been implemented in the fiendishly clever design of these vessels. Teleport redirecting magics have been used to prevent non-physical access to the citadels themselves. These magics typically redirect boarders into holding cells built into the vessel. These cells rarely have physical exits. |
Due mainly to the shere size and weight of these vessels, they are extremely slow moving. However, the Fainal employ them primarily as mobile bases and assault platforms, negating any real nead for speed. Shere firepower overwhelms most opponents. Typically, 100 or more fainal of various classes(mostly warriors) inhabit a citadel. |
Ballista and spellcasting platforms are located strategically across the surface of the citadel. These platforms are normally sealed by means of moveable, adamantium partitions. There are 6 ballista platforms typically found equidistant around the face of the citadel. Varying numbers of spellcasting platforms are also present. Any inverted platforms utilize a Reverse Gravity(cast at the 16th level, found in the Players Handbook) spell effect to prevent individuals on the platforms from falling off. This causes a -4 to hit on attackers attempting to fire missile weapons at the lower and side platforms. |
