The Calender

There are two basic calenders on Mysaniti, with three counts of the passing years. The first calender below is used primarily by the elven and human nations. However, the dwarves and gnomes have a calender all their own.

The year is split into 4 seasons, each season into four 36 day months, for a grand total of 576 days in a single year. Each month is further divided into four 9 day weeks. Scholars believe that the months have been named for elven heroes from the first battles with Lolth. The elves are silent on this matter. The days of the week were named for the elven gods, for the most part. They are:

1)Eden-dir -named for Eddass
2)Susta-dir -named for Susta
3)Mystyl-dir -named for Mystryl
4)Morandin-dir -the only day named for a dwarven diety, specifically Morandin
5)Delic-dir -named for Delicar
6)Tril'im-dir -named for Tril'im
7)Zhel'gan-dir -named for Zhelabel
8)Cambrin-dir -named for Cambrin
9)Belpar-dir -named for Bel'partion

The first season on the wheel of Delicar is roughly equivalent to spring. Susta is generally viewed as being the patron of this season. It, and the attendant 4 months are:

Sustalin:
1)Lithior (Spring Solstice)
2)Dolstinor
3)Klesin

The second season on Delicar's Wheel is roughly equal to summer, and is normally the hottest season of the year. Zhelabel is considered the patron of this season, as it is often a time of merriment.

Zhelalin:
4)Siristan (Summer Equinox)
5)Nyth (Susta's Day)
6)Gorat

The third season of the Wheel is considered the autumnal months, being the harvest season for most of Mysaniti. Tril'im is the patron diety of this season.

Trilin:
7)Shemic (Fall Solstice)
8)Lent (Harvest Festival)
9)Rhythik (Cambrins Watch)

The fourth season of the year is the winter season. By nature, it is extremely cold in some places, while warmer in others. Delicar is often viewed as the patron of this season.

Delin:
10)Erasin (Winter Equinox/Delicar's Day)
11)Cinic
12)Kem

The years are measured in two different ways. The elves reckon time from their creation, with the year being 37862DW. DW stands for Delicar's Wheel. The rakasta, halflings, and most surface gnomes also use this count. The humans reckon time from their arrival on Mysaniti. By their count, it is 1734EM. EM stands for Exodus of Man.

The dwarven calender is rarely used outside of the dwarven and gnomish peoples. In fact, most of the traders from the dwarves and gnomes use the elven calender. Due to this, little is known of the dwarven calender.
