Glyph of Warding, Acid Burst (look up schools and spheres for GoW)
Range: 30' Casting Time: 2 days Components: V, S, M Duration: Permanent Area of Effect: 30'cone Saving Throw: None Discovered by: Chasmyr
his glyph causes a fountain of acid to shoot out to 30' from the glyph. This fountain spreads to a 30' wide area at the end of it's reach and will rebound if used in enclosed spaces(in enclosed areas, like tunnels, splash damage is also possible). The acid causes (the casters level/2)d6 of damage on hitting anything within it's area of effect. This damage continues for two rounds after leaving the fountain (half damage first round, quarter the second). A save vs wands is applicable for creatures rated as small in size to dodge 1/2 of the damage. This fountain continues to spray so long as any creature fitting the activation description continues to be within the area of effect. The acid created will damage the surface the glyph is on, but not inside of a 2' diameter area around the glyph(thus, the glyph itself will be preserved from the damageing effects of the acid). This will cause the area around the glyph to be reshaped if the glyph is activated for a long period of time.
An adamantium stylus(8,000gp) intricately carved in the presecribed manner is required to carve this spell. It may not be placed on any material of less strength than stone, or on any object of less weight than 200lbs. The stylus may be reused.
This spell was originally developed by a priest of Eddas, and later was modified for use by wizards. It has seen extensive use in fighting creatures who regenerate. Also, the carving of this glyph is a common component in creating a weapon of acid. This is the only known case where this glyph may be carved on an object of less than 200lbs.
