The City of Cathain

Cathain is the capital of the Kingdom of Cathu. It is a sprawling city without a wall and is an extremely lovely place. There are many gardens and fountains, palaces, wide streets and squares.

City Politics

The King of Cathu, King Pallifore, also rules the city of Cathain. He is well liked by the populace, epitomizing the Cathunian attitude of taking it easy. He is very generous and kind.

There is not much to contend with the King in Cathain, but outside forces have been known to sometimes influence happenings within the city.

Law & Order

Law and order are kept by Cathunian Knights, a guild headquartered in Cathain. They keep a light watch as there is not much crime (noted and documented, anyway) within the city.

Trade & Lodging

Cair Gellan, on the island to the Southeast of the city, was given to the Cathunian Knights about 500 years ago as a guild HQ in return for a vow of allegiance. This vow has since been passed on to represent all kingdoms in the alliance, but with its HQ in Cathain, the guild retains its special relationship with this particular kingdom.

The Knights have been known to shirk their duties of guarding Cathian in times of need and for festivals and such....

The Star Guild operates a branch office on the island adjacent to Caer Gellan about the same time to research the possibilities of adamantite/star metal alloys.

Adamantite is traded and peddled here in many forms, and thus it has a thriving market, although it will never be like it once was in the past. Inns are easy to find, and most will cater to those who have money enough to purchase a night's stay.

Racial Harmony

The people of Cathain of the warmest of the Alliance. Although their city is no longer the splendid place it was, they still live in the most beautiful city and regard themselves as lucky.
