Diplomatic Review Committee
Students, faculty, and staff of colleges should remember that July is Americans with Disabilities Month, the anniversary of landmark laws that protect the rights of the disabled, deaf, and senior citizens. Please organize and promote the anniversary with a picnic or a rally where our people and communities can speak out and correct the improper stereotyping of us by the forces of retreat and discommunity. Invite the media, politicians, and others to see that we are no different than anyone else, and wrong information and images that go with it need to be corrected. Justice for one is justice for all, and justice denied for one is justice denied for all. We will not go back to the status of being second class citizens with second class opportunities and second class rights. Let us join together for that day when disabilities, differences, and diversities will not be ignored and equality is further lived for and practiced by us all. College individuals, let us in justice, and in the brotherhood and sisterhood of our common humanity, always progress forward with this thought ever in our hearts!
Final Note from the Captain
Score another victory to the vigilance, commitment, and empowerment of the disabled, deaf, and senior citizen rights advocates, as well as many others who have contributed selflessly over the years to our issues and needs! Thanks go out to each and every one of you for your efforts! We are not done yet. Our bodies are tired, but our souls are rested! Wow, what a way to go! Be honored and blessed all of those still out front and those behind the scenes who have helped further strengthen justice for the disabled, deaf, and senior citizens.
