My interests tend toward 'hard' science fiction, in which the science or technology aspect is
at least present and well thought out. This is as opposed to fantasy novels
(though I do like a few of these).
The following are some science fiction books/stories I have particularly enjoyed and which I
would recommend. This was last updated 12/01/99 and it is only a partial list.
Zenna Henderson:
Pilgrimage: The Book of The People (1961)
The People: No Different Flesh (1966)
Ingathering: The Complete People Stories
The Anything Box (1965)
Holding Wonder (1971)
C. S. Lewis:
The space trilogy
The Screwtape Letters (fantasy?)
The Chonicles of Narnia (7 books - fantasy)
Andre Norton:
Stargate
Star rangers
(Note: most of her novels are very heavy 'fantasy', the above are older,
somewhat aimed at a young audience, but still fun)
James White:
The sector general series (11 books)
Federation World
Timothy Zahn:
The Blackcollar (1983)
The Backlash Mission (1986)
A coming of age
Spinneret
The Cobra series (3 books)
