WELCOME TO THE HOME OF ARROWBREEZE SUREFIRE

A small burrow concealed about two miles from Salamandastron. Outside, a sign reads Welcome, any and all. You head down the long dirt corridor toward a collection of rooms at the end. In front of you is what seems to be the main room. To your left is a room with beautiful oak desks and soft sofas. The desks and the small tables beside the sofas are covered with blank scrolls, beautiful quill pens and engraved inkwells. Next to this room is a small one containing only a large podium on which an open leather volume, quill pen and inkpot rest.To your right is another corridor. You don't head down this one, but from here you can see two rooms. Firelight and laughter are spilling out of one, and the other is lit only faintly by torchlight. You head a little down the hall and see inside the second room many serious looking beasts with their heads bent over maps. You retreat your steps and look at the center room. Sitting in a lush armchair before the hearth is a young female hare in a lavendar gown and pale green bodice. One footpaw is wrapped in a cast and stretched out in front of her, and a large leather book and pen rest forgotten in her lap. She is looking dejectedly around at the many empty bookshelves lining the walls, but she glances up hopefully as you enter.

Why hello there! My name? Why, Arrowbreeze Surefire of course. Member of the Long Patrol, or was. Wounded patrolling, dangblasted little toads with their dumb spears.... Well, idle hands are the devil's workshop doncha know! So me Lord Russano, he says to me, he sez, "Arrowbreeze, so many write of what happens in Salamandastron, Mossflower and Redwall, but the records are lost because they never reach the Recorder of Redwall. So I'm appointing you Scroll-Keeper of Salamandastron. Sit in this cave and any and all beasts that come to you with a story, you will set them up. Give them scrolls and ink and pens, and then organize what they give you." Russano the Wise, they call that one, and it's a true title and no mistake. Well, you say, what's the bally problem then? Why, nobeast has given me anything! I say, ol' pal, YOU wouldn't happen to have any stories o' Mossflower, Salamandastron, Redwall and the rest? Or any poems? Recipes? Directions to places of your own? Anything you have, my friend, I'll take it gladly. Jus you follow that sign out there, the one that says "Scribe Room", and write down what you want, eh? Have fun! What, you've got nothing to write? Well, that's okay chap, just you listen to me. How'd you like to look at some maps of other Redwall places, eh? Well, just check out the Map Room, m'friend! Or if you don't really feel like poring over maps or books, how's about you check into the Hall? Lovely place, just follow that sign and you can sit and talk to those nicebeasts in there! Say, how's about you stop by there every fourthday about, say, sunset?(Wednesdays at six o'clock) I'll be in there! Goodness, you're really busy, aren't you? Not even time to do that? Or do you think you've been to all those places. Well, at least leave a record of your passing--this memory ain't much, ya know. I like to remember the chaps and chapesses that visit my humble burrow. Just you follow that sign that says "Sign the Records." And if you'd like to see the sort of company you've kept by coming here, try "View the Records." All set now? Alright then, ta-ta! Arrowbreeze Surefire
