I'd have to say that Vandread (1st & 2nd Stage) is one of the most unique Anime series I've ever seen. The idea of men and women separating paths, each forgetting that one needs the other, kinda bothers me but it is also interesting to see men and women re-discover each other. The term "Vandread" was coined when a man's "Vanguard" (a battle mecha) and a woman's Dread (space fighter) combines to become a totally new vehicle of some sort. As you would expect from a Gonzo production, awesome computer generated animation for the mecha and breath-taking battles in space are the recipe for this kind of Anime. I'd have to say, aside form Rurouni Kenshin, Vandread is my 2nd favorite Anime of all time.

Vandread, Vandread. What can I say about this series? Well, remember that phrase, that men are from mars and women are from venus? In this series, the men are at war with the women. The men think women are monsters and the women think men are dirty. They have a rather unique way of continuing their race... ^.^; The fun starts when the women take over one of the men's ships. Some of the men weren't able to get out of the ship on time and is then captured by the women... Of course, since they really don't have any idea what the other is like, interest grows in a cute and hilarious way! *^_^* Of course, there are very dramatic scenes as well... *sniff* Anyway, this is a series well worth the time and money. ^_^ Lots of Mecha, Action, and a tad bit of Romance as well...
